If you’re vegetarian and heading to Walt Disney World for this year’s Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, go no further!
As the lone vegetarian of WDW Prep School, I’ve made a list of the best vegetarian options at Epcot Flower and Garden 2023.
This is a great festival for both vegans and vegetarians. There are many menu items to enjoy — they are also delicious.
After eating and drinking every single menu item (over 150!) with my WDW Prep School team, I’ve come up with a very good list (if I do say so myself) of vegetarian offerings.
There are 15 vegetarian options across 10 booths that are pretty great. Many of these items are also strictly plant-based. They are all definitely worth your time and money.
Here are the best vegetarian options at Epcot Flower and Garden 2023.
Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib

The boneless Impossible Korean short rib is served with cilantro-lime rice, danmuji slaw, and kimchee mayonnaise.
This dish has been served for many years in a row, and for good reason. It is absolutely fantastic and worth every penny.
Trust me when I say you won’t walk away disappointed.
Impossible Lumpia

The Impossible lumpia with a Thai sweet chili sauce is new this year to Flower and Garden.
I was very impressed with the serving size. I loved this dish so much that I had it twice and will be ordering it again during future trips while the festival is still running.
Now, the lumpia may not be crispy enough for some, but, overall, it’s a solid menu item.
The chili sauce may cause the lumpia to soften, so you might want to try asking for the sauce on the side.
Lemon Meringue Pie

If you’re a lemon meringue pie fan, this menu item is for you.
The miniature lemon meringue pie is made with lemon curd, lemon mousse, and toasted meringue. It’s a new item for the 2023 festival.
The pie is refreshing, has the right amount of lemon, and is even shareable.
Plus, The Citrus Blossom is located inside the Odyssey this year, so if you’re lucky, you might even be able to find a table to sit and enjoy your lemon meringue pie.
Fried Cinnamon Roll Bites

The fried cinnamon roll bites returned this year and I’m so glad they did.
I’m a big sweets person, especially when it involves fried dough and cream cheese frosting. These aren’t overly sweet and make a great snack to share.
Or, you know, you can eat them all yourself, like I prefer to do.
Now, you might be asking yourself, “Allyson, these come with bacon. How can I eat these if I’m vegetarian?”
I’m so glad you asked, because tip: you can get them without bacon! That’s right. When you hand your receipt to the Cast Member who calls back orders to those working in the booth’s kitchen, make sure to let them know you want an order of the fried cinnamon roll bites without bacon.
Avocado Toast

There’s no denying that the avocado toast served with tomatoes on toasted ciabatta is a beautiful dish.
It also tastes just as good as it looks. If you’re looking for a lighter dish, this is a great one to order.
Admittedly, the avocado toast does get messy. It’s kind of difficult to eat in a theme park (especially if you have to use a trash can — IYKYK ), but it’s worth the mess, in my opinion.
Croissant with Goat Cheese

You can’t go wrong with a croissant stuffed with goat cheese, herbs, and roasted garlic.
This is flaky in all the right ways and the cheese? Yum, yum, yum.
I actually didn’t like this item during the 2022 Flower and Garden Festival. It was cold and not appetizing. But, I honestly think because we ordered it at the end of the day last year, we didn’t get a fresh croissant.
The key here is to order the croissant early in the day. You might even want to rope drop Fleur de Lys, because the France booth is always popular and the line builds quickly.
Watermelon Salad

This is one salad I could eat every day for the rest of my life and be happy.
Isn’t it gorgeous? This crisp watermelon salad made with blueberries, pickled red onions, balsamic, and feta is a new offering for the 2023 festival and I hope it returns for years to come.
The watermelon is fresh and mixes so well with the balsamic and feta. My stomach is growling just thinking about it.
Grilled Street Corn with Savory Garlic Spread and Spicy Corn Chips

I love corn on the cob, but eating it at a theme park? Yeah, it’s not usually my thing. I try to avoid it all costs. Anyone have floss?
But, seeing as our goal as a team was to eat and rink everything at the festival, we couldn’t pass on the corn. And I’m so glad we didn’t.
They grill the corn fresh, plus it’s not too spicy and the corn chips blend perfectly with the savory garlic spread.
Grilled Street Corn with Savory Garlic Spread and Plant-Based Cotija Cheese

Yes, there are two different kinds of corn on the cob at the Florida Fresh booth. Yes, they are both delicious.
This grilled street corn on the cob comes with a savory garlic spread and plant-based cotija cheese. I will admit that plant-based cheese is either a hit or a miss, but this cotija cheese was fantastic.
Overall, this was a solid piece of the corn on the cob with beautiful flavors.
Coconut Tres Leches

Coconut tres leches is a vanilla cake soaked in oat milk, almond milk, and coconut milk with toasted coconut. Need I say more?
This is the second year the cake has been part of La Isla Fresca’s menu and I’m very happy it returned. If you love coconut, this is for you.
This cake just proves that plant-based desserts are just as good as those that aren’t. This is one of my favorite desserts at the festival. I will buy it over and over again.
Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake

I love a good piece of chocolate cake, including this chocolate maple whisky cake, which is a new option this year at the Northern Bloom booth.
It’s not super rich and an all-around lovely chocolate cake. I do wish there was more of a maple flavor, but that doesn’t take away from how good of a dessert option it is.
I will gladly order this again next time I’m at the festival.
Hummus Trio

I’m all about hummus and even more so when it’s a trio of traditional hummus, red beet and black garlic hummus, and an avocado-herb hummus served with Moroccan bread and crispy papadam.
I love that this was added to Tangierine Café’s 2023 Flower and Garden menu.
You get a lot for your money, it’s perfect for sharing, it makes a great snack, and it’s absolutely delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this hummus trio.
Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake

More cake? Oh yes, and this orange blossom cake with saffron is not only new this year, but it’s also superb.
Based on the description, I really expected to hate this. Orange and saffron? Eh, not my thing. Boy, was I wrong.
It’s a nice, light dessert that resembles cheesecake. (FYI: cheesecake is my favorite dessert.) The flavors complement each other extremely well.
Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake

Hello, lover. Did you say that using your best Carrie Bradshaw? Just me? It doesn’t matter, because it’s time to talk about the honey-mascarpone cheesecake.
This piece of cheesecake is served with honey whipped cream, whipped honey, crystalized honey, honeycomb, dehydrated honey, and fennel pollen meringue kisses.
Admittedly, I thought this cheesecake was just ok last year. But, this year, I changed my tuned. It’s a very good piece of cheesecake.
Potato Pancakes with Applesauce

Potato pancakes with house-made apple sauce sounds strange, I know.
I’m not sure if this how potato pancakes would be served in Germany, but this is how the plant-based version is prepared in Epcot’s Germany pavilion.
I don’t mind the combination. I love both applesauce and potato pancakes. It’s a solid savory dish.
But, if you don’t want applesauce, you can probably ask to have the potato pancakes served by themselves. Just be sure to ask the Cast Member you hand your receipt to if they can leave off the applesauce.
Other Vegetarian Options at Epcot Flower and Garden 2023
The list above features all the things that I (and my co-workers) think are the best vegetarian items from this year’a festival, but, there are a few more options at other Flower and Garden booths.
I don’t think they are as good as the menu items above, but you might want to try them for yourself!

Have you tried any of these vegetarian items yet at the 2023 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival? What’s your favorite? What can’t you wait to order? Let us know in the comments!

I hope you'll be doing a similar post for Food & Wine. While I know there are a handful of plant based items, I'm so curious if the things that sound vegetarian are actually vegetarian (no hidden stock or gelatin)
