As you enter the World Showcase and walk towards the Canada pavilion, you may want to make a stop at the Northern Bloom outdoor kitchen.
Here you’ll find a range of beer and other Canadian-inspired fare.
This year, we see the return of the Seared Scallops and Beef Tenderloin Tips, along with all of the same beverages. But, unfortunately, these dishes disappointed us this year.
However, if you want a good beer flight and delicious dessert, Northern Bloom has both!
Since this is near the entrance of the World Showcase, the area and booth can get very busy. Sometimes the line at Northern Bloom is quite long, so definitely take that into account.
Be sure to check back our 2023 Northern Bloom must-trys, photos, full reviews, and ratings below.

Review Disclaimer
When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.
Shannon (Founder)
- Likes: Almost everything
- Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Heather (Editor)
- Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
- Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
- Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy
Felicia (Content Manager)
- Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
- Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Allyson (Managing Writer)
- Likes: Cheesecake (the more sweets, the better), anything mint, hazy IPAs and wheat beers (big beer fan), tofu and most Impossible dishes, mushrooms
- Dislikes: Wine (only likes a few dry ones), cream ales and stouts/porters, super sweet cocktails, floral flavors (lavender, rose), anything almond-flavored, things that are too spicy, olives, meat and seafood (see below)
- Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian (personal choice)
Photos & Reviews
Seared Scallops
Seared Scallops with French green beans, butter potatoes, brown butter vinaigrette and applewood-smoked bacon.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Great mix of ingredients, but fairly bland flavors. Nice sized portion. Loved it.
Felicia: Scallops are large and cooked well. The vinaigrette gives everything a nice flavor. The green beans are firm and maybe slightly undercooked but was good.
Beef Tenderloin Tips
Beef tenderloin tips, mushroom bordelaise sauce, and whipped potatoes with garden vegetables.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Delicious potatoes but tenderloin and carrots hard to eat. Liked it a lot more last year.
Heather: The mashed potatoes and gravy are on point. The rest? Blah.
Felicia: The bordelaise sauce and mashed potatoes are good, but the beef is so dry and chewy. It’s almost inedible. Very disappointing.
Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake
A chocolate maple whisky cake. This is a new festival item for 2023.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: So good. Nice portion. Delicious chocolate. Maple flavor is slight.
Heather: Delicious-just heavy and very, very rich. Definitely good for sharing!
Felicia: Not much whiskey or maple flavor, but dense and rich chocolate cake with good flavor. Kid friendly.
Allyson: Wow. Absolutely delicious. Not too rich or heavy. Pretty much melts in your mouth. Would like it to have more of a maple flavor, but can’t wait to get this again.
Maple Popcorn Shake
This maple popcorn shake is non-alcoholic.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Overly sweet. Didn’t enjoy.
Heather: I don’t taste maple OR popcorn! Where is the flavor?
Felicia: Tastes like a vanilla milkshake. Too heavy to easily drink, would recommend a spoon.
Allyson: Too creamy. Too sweet. Not good on a hot day.
Collective Arts Brewing Honey Lager
This honey lager is a light beer with hints of honey and is brewed by Collective Arts Brewing in Ontario, Canada.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Really light and refreshing. Would get it full sized next time.
Heather: Really nice lager – nothing fancy but a great option. Definitely helps make a good flight.
Felicia: Pretty mellow drink overall. Easy to drink beer with undertones of hops. Nothing special but it’s light and refreshing.
Allyson: A solid lager worth just enough honey flavor. Good on a warm day.
Glutenberg Blonde Ale
A Blonde Ale brewed by Glutenberg in Montreal, Quebec.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Really light and enjoyable flavor. Would order full sized.
Heather: Light, fresh and oddly floral? Who cares. It’s good.
Felicia: Refreshing and mellow. Easy-drinking beer for walking around World Showcase on a hot day.
Allyson: This is a solid blonde ale. Really enjoyed this.
81Bay Brewing Apricot with Maple Syrup
This Apricot with Maple Syrup is a fruit beer brewed by 81Bay Brewing in Tampa, Florida.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Can definitely taste the apricot and maple coming through but not too strong. Light. Loved.
Heather: Another win for me. Smells like maple, tastes like a dream.
Felicia: Strong apricot flavor which is great. It’s a bit sweet so would get it only in a flight. Overall would recommend the Canada beer flight.
Allyson: I’m not an apricot fan, but like this. A little on the creamier side, but I like it.
Maple Popcorn Shake with Tap 357 Maple Rye Whisky
This maple popcorn shake is made with Tap 357 Maple Rye Whisky.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Way too sweet. Didn’t love.
Heather: The alcohol at least gives this shake a bit of flavor.
Felicia: Tastes like a vanilla milkshake with whiskey. Whiskey is very strong and overpowering.
Allyson: Whoa alcohol. I’m not a whiskey fan and don’t like this at all.
