The Refreshment Outpost isn’t your typical Flower and Garden booth.
This is actually a permanent Quick Service spot that you can find in the Africa outpost area between the China and Germany pavilions.
But, just like at every other Epcot festival, during Flower and Garden there are exclusive festival menu items sold here in addition to the daily menu which includes things like soft-serve ice cream, frozen drinks, and a range of beers.
It’s important to note that unlike most of the other festival booths where you can choose between 6 oz. or 12 oz. beers, you are served full-size beers/ciders at the Refreshment Outpost.
You’re served a good portion for the amount you pay, but you also want to make sure you’re not wasting your money on a big drink that you might not like in the end.
We recommend the Southern Tier Brewing Co. Juice Jolt IPA. Even if you’re not an IPA fan, this tastes great and isn’t overpowering like many IPAs can be.

Review Disclaimer
When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.
Shannon (Founder)
- Likes: Almost everything
- Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Heather (Editor)
- Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
- Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
- Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy
Felicia (Content Manager)
- Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
- Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Allyson (Managing Writer)
- Likes: Cheesecake (the more sweets, the better), anything mint, hazy IPAs and wheat beers (big beer fan), tofu and most Impossible dishes, mushrooms
- Dislikes: Wine (only likes a few dry ones), cream ales and stouts/porters, super sweet cocktails, floral flavors (lavender, rose), anything almond-flavored, things that are too spicy, olives, meat and seafood (see below)
- Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian (personal choice)

Pineapple Skewer with Tajin Seasoning
A pineapple skewer with Tajin seasoning. This dish is also part of the Garden Graze, the food crawl where you can earn a prize.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: It’s pineapple and Tajin. That’s kinda it. If you like those things, you may like this easy skewered snack. Nothing special though.
Heather: It is just pineapple with Tajin. That’s it. Make it at home. Here’s the recipe: buy some pineapple and sprinkle some Tajin. Done. Wait – put it on a skewer if you are fancy.
Felicia: I love Tajin and especially love it on fruit (like pineapple) so this was a nice light option. It’s a great healthy snack.
Allyson: I don’t like the combination of pineapple and Tajin. Not my thing at all. Overpriced too.
Ice Cream Float
A float made with cream soda and tangerine soft-serve ice cream. This is a new 2023 festival item.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Yum! Like the tangerine soft serve by itself, and also good with this cream soda.
Heather: It is totally fine – EXCEPT, tangerines are orange, aren’t they?! I’m so confused.
Felicia: Just tastes like fruity ice cream float. Kids would probably like it. The tangerine flavor is artificial.
Allyson: It’s refreshing and flavorful, but not something I’d particularly order. Very kid-friendly.
Lexington Brewing Tangerine Cream Ale
A tangerine cream ale made by Lexington Brewing in Lexington, Kentucky.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Big portion, love the cream ale with tangerine flavor
Heather: I really like this one – creamy while still tasting like a beer. Little bit on the sweet side. You’ve been warned.
Felicia: Tasted like a mix between cream soda and beer with some fake tangerine flavor added. Kind of thick and heavy, too. Not for me.
Allyson: I don’t like a cream ale and don’t like this. Awful flavor.
Lavender Martini
A lavender martini made with vodka with lavender and lemon.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Not a great balance of sweet and sour. Light. Good portion
Heather: I found this to be a delight. Sipping this makes me feel like the main character in a highlands romance.
Felicia: Lot of artificial lemon flavor and rather sweet but I didn’t hate it. Neither the lavender nor the vodka were overpowering.
Allyson: Pleasantly surprised by this. Love the flavors and the lavender isn’t overpowering.
Grand Cherry Hard Cider
A cherry hard cider with a hint of orange from Blake’s Hard Cider Co. in Armada, Michigan. This is a new item for the 2023 Festival.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Too sweet. Big portion.
Heather: I really loved some of the other ciders, but not this one. People who enjoy ciders will probably enjoy this one – just know you can ONLY get it in a large size.
Felicia: So thick with artificial cherry flavor and it’s very sweet. Not at all refreshing.
Allyson: A very cherry flavor so you must like cherries. It’s refreshing but not my favorite. A little too sweet.
Juice Jolt IPA
A tropical flavored IPA from Southern Tier Brewing Co. in Lakewood, NY. This is a new item for the 2023 Festival.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Big portion, light flavor, so refreshing for IPA lovers
Heather: Very sweet – but also a good IPA. Be warned: I am not an IPA fan…so if you are, you may not enjoy it.
Felicia: This doesn’t taste at all like an ipa. It is very fruity but still somehow light. I didn’t hate it. But I doubt people looking for an ipa will think it’s good.
Allyson: A very juicy IPA. You will either love it or hate it. It’s good and as an IPA fan I do like it.
