If Epcot is considered the place to go for great Table Service restaurants, then Magic Kingdom is the place to go for some of the best Quick Service and snacks in Disney World.
From the famous Dole Whip at Aloha Isle to the enchanted ambiance of the Be Our Guest restaurant, the Magic Kingdom restaurants have a lot to offer.
Let’s take a look at their pros and cons …
Disney World dining basics
While dining at Disney World isn’t all that different than eating in the “real world,” there are few things to know about in order to make your experience easier.
Disney groups their restaurants into two main categories: Quick Service (which is like fast food) and Table Service (which are places that are a little bit nicer, where the food is brought to you).
Here is what you should know about each:
Quick Service
- Sometimes referred to as “Counter Service”
- Many locations offer Mobile Order which allows you to skip the line
- Advanced Dining Reservations are not required or offered
Table Service
- Most locations offer Advanced Dining Reservations that can be made up to 60 days in advance
- Some locations also offer a waitlist that can be joined from the My Disney Experience app
- Character Meals fall into this category

Tortuga Tavern isn’t the most popular Quick Service option at Magic Kingdom, but it has great outdoor seating and its own set of restrooms, which are definitely both wins.
The restaurant is usually open seasonally. Be sure to also check the hours, because Tortuga Tavern typically has shortened hours compared to many other Quick Service spots.

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of the more adventurous places to eat Magic Kingdom, but also one of the better Table Service options.
Not only will your servers make you laugh, but it’s themed after the Jungle Cruise.
The food is delicious. You can also order specialty cocktails, along with a variety of non-alcoholic offerings.
Be sure to also order from the “Not So Secret Menu”! The Pao de Queijo (aka Brazilian cheese bread) served with a chimichurri sauce is absolutely fantastic.
If this is at the top of your list, be sure to make a dining reservation!
Fantasyland
Did you know there is not 1 but 3 castles in Magic Kingdom, and all of them are located in Fantasyland? While Prince Eric’s Castle is home to an attraction (Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid), the other two castles contain restaurants: Cinderella Castle has Cinderella’s Royal Table and the Beast’s Castle has Be Our Guest – 2 of the most popular restaurants in all of Walt Disney World.

LeFou’s Brew, which is plant-based, is a popular drink you can order here, as well.
It contains Frozen Apple Juice with a hint of Toasted Marshmallow and topped with All-Natural Passion Fruit-Mango Foam.
Mobile Ordering is not available here, so prepare to wait in line.

- Cons: Not up to par with other nearby Quick Service restaurants, lines can be long (but usually move quickly)
Pinocchio Village Haus is a popular Quick Service spot, especially since it’s located in the heart of Old Fantasyland.
While not the best menu, it’s decent and has options for picky eaters. Specifically, the restaurant is known for its flatbreads. There are specialty ones at times, so be sure to take a good look at the menu.
You can also Mobile Order here, which we always recommend taking advantage of to avoid waits and if you’re on a schedule.
There are even great views of “it’s a small world,” with a window overlooking ride!
There’s also seating upstairs, with an outdoor balcony that provides great views of Fantasyland.

Meals Served: Lunch and Dinner
- On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 2 table service credits
- Pros: Interesting French food options, the only place to meet The Beast
- Cons: Service and food can be inconsistent, waits can be long, one of the hardest dining reservations to get at Disney World
Be Our Guest is one of the most popular Table Service options at Disney World, especially at Magic Kingdom.
After all, this is the only place you can meet the Beast and dine inside his castle. There are 3 rooms to dine in: The Grand Ballroom, The Rose Gallery, and The West Wing (this may scare little ones).
While the experience is one-of-a-kind, there’s no denying it is a very pricey meal.
Reservations are accepted and very much recommended.
Cinderella’s Royal Table
Location type: Character Dining
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 2 table service credits
- Pros: The experience, view, and characters (which include Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, and sometimes Jasmine), are all good.
Note: At this time, only Cinderella will be present at the meal - Cons: Expensive, waits can be long to get in even with a reservation, most food is mediocre
Cinderella’s Royal Table is a sit-down restaurant, where you can meet princesses (like Cinderella, of course) and dine inside her castle.
While it’s certainly a unique experience and the only way you’re able to enter the castle, it’s extremely pricey.
The food also isn’t that memorable. You can definitely find other character dining that is much more worth your time and money.
But, if this is a top option and you (and your little one) want to meet several Disney princesses at once, be sure to snag a reservation as soon as possible!
Frontierland
Frontierland is definitely not known for its dining options, but it is home to the popular Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café – a Chipotle-style restaurant featuring rice bowls, tacos, fajitas, nachos, and many other favorites.

Pecos Bill’s resembles an Old West saloon and sells a range of Mexican-inspired food, like southwestern salads, fajita platters, rice bowls, pork and chicken nachos, and more.
Pecos Bill’s is also a great place to find seating both indoors and outdoors. There’s no shortage of tables.
Mobile Order is available, which we also recommend using since it’s a time saver and will prevent you from having to wait in a long line.
You can also find a portable phone charging station inside the restaurant, where you can swap and purchase FuelRods.

If you’re looking for Thanksgiving-style food year round, you may want to visit Liberty Tree Tavern in Liberty Square on your next Magic Kingdom day.

The Table Service restaurant may have a different concept than Liberty Tree Tavern, but it serves the exact same food. Pricing is also the same.
The menu items simply have different names. For example, instead of the “Patriot’s Platter” that’s served at Liberty Tree Tavern, The Diamond Horseshoe offers the “Saloon Feast.”
If you’re hoping to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern, try snagging a reservation at The Diamond Horseshoe or vice versa. You will simply have different theming, but get to eat the same meal.

You get a lot of food here, but it’s also very good.
There is a plant-based Impossible meatloaf served with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and seasonal vegetables.
You can also order the standard Patriot’s Platter, which features roasted turkey, Pennsylvania pot roast, and oven-roasted pork with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese.
Dessert is just as good as the meal. Liberty Tree Tavern is known for it’s Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake: vanilla toffee cake, chocolate sauce, and vanilla ice cream.
Yes, it’s as amazing as it looks.
There is also a plant-based dessert, Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake with caramel and whipped topping.
Fun fact: Liberty Tree Tavern serves the same exact food as The Diamond Horseshoe.

If you’re looking for a Starbucks fix at Magic Kingdom, you will want to head to Main Street, U.S.A. and make a stop at the Main Street Bakery.

Seating can be very competitive and busy, but you can find outdoor tables with umbrellas. There are some tables inside, but they are limited.

You can find the restaurant near Town Square Theater. It also has great outdoor seating offering awesome views of the parade.
Reservations are accepted here, which we always recommend making when it comes to dining at Disney World.
Where will you be eating at Magic Kingdom? I’m more likely to have a Table Service meal at a nearby resort since there are so many good options, but there are lots of good snacks to be had at Magic Kingdom.
