Hear ye! Hear ye!
It is time to explore Liberty Square, which you can find in Magic Kingdom situated between Frontierland and Fantasyland.
Liberty Square is home to an opening-day attraction — Haunted Mansion. Plus, this is the land to visit if you want to hear (or take a nap while) all of the presidents’ of the United States speak, ride the Liberty Belle, or get a waffle covered in fresh fruit and chocolate-hazelnut spread.
You can also see a replica of the Liberty Bell.
Warning: make sure you don’t step in the sewage. Ok, it’s not real sewage, but if you look down while you’re walking in Liberty Square you’ll see a brown cement river.
This represents back during colonial times when they would dump buckets of sewage in the streets due to indoor plumbing not existing yet. Disney really nails it with all of the details, don’t they?
Now that you know that fun fact, here’s everything you need to know about Liberty Square!

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is a great place to grab a quick breakfast or snack during the day.
One of the most popular items is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich served with strawberries, banana, blueberries, and chocolate-hazelnut spread.

Columbia Harbour House is one of the best Quick Service options at Magic Kingdom.
You can find seafood dishes here, like lobster rolls, shrimp, and salmon, to name a few. There are also chicken strips, salads, New England clam chowder, and more.

Table Service Restaurants
Liberty Tree Tavern
Location type: Table Service
Type of food: American Family Style
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner
- On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 table service credit
- Pros: Delicious Thanksgiving-style food
- Cons: During busier times, waits can be long even with a reservation
Liberty Tree Tavern is an all-you-care-to-enjoy Table Service meal.
The restaurant is designed to embody a colonial-style inn that serves traditional New England-inspired fare.
You get a lot of food here, but it’s also very good.
There is a plant-based Impossible meatloaf served with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and seasonal vegetables.
You can also order the standard Patriot’s Platter, which features roasted turkey, Pennsylvania pot roast, and oven-roasted pork with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese.
Dessert is just as good as the meal. Liberty Tree Tavern is known for it’s Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake: vanilla toffee cake, chocolate sauce, and vanilla ice cream.
Yes, it’s as amazing as it looks.
There is also a plant-based dessert, Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake with caramel and whipped topping.
Fun fact: Liberty Tree Tavern serves the same exact food as The Diamond Horseshoe.
The Diamond Horseshoe
Location type: Table Service
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner
- On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 table service credit
- Pros: Home-cooked comfort food served family style that usually appeals to the whole family
- Cons: Mediocre food quality
The Diamond Horseshoe is a family-style sit-down restaurant serving an all-you-can-eat holiday-inspired dinner inside an Old West music hall.
The Table Service restaurant may have a different concept than Liberty Tree Tavern, but it serves the exact same food. Pricing is also the same.
The menu items simply have different names. For example, instead of the “Patriot’s Platter” that’s served at Liberty Tree Tavern, The Diamond Horseshoe offers the “Saloon Feast.”
If you’re hoping to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern, try snagging a reservation at The Diamond Horseshoe or vice versa. You will simply have different theming, but get to eat the same meal.
Seating Areas
There are several areas to rest your feet in Liberty Square. Some of these spots even offer great views of parades and cavalcades.
These benches are located before the bridge that leads into Liberty Square. But, keep in mind sometimes these are reserved.
Even though these rocking chairs sit back away from prime parade-viewing, they make a great spot to steer clear from big crowds. Plus, they offer shade!
Sleepy Hollow Refreshments has several outdoor tables that are covered.
Finally, Liberty Square Market has plenty of tables and chairs with umbrellas.
Keep in mind that this area can get busy thanks to stroller parking right next to it, along with Haunted Mansion and Columbia Harbour House nearby.
Shops
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
The Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is a year-round Christmas shop.

There are so many cute ones! This is also the place to visit if you want ornaments or ears customized. The shop also has pin trading.
Don’t forget to check the cute photo-op with a sleigh located directly outside the store.

Located outside Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is the Liberty Square Portrait Gallery.

Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade
Attractions
Liberty Square is home to 3 attractions, including the ever-so-popular Haunted Mansion.
Haunted Mansion
A tour of various ghost-filled rooms of a mansion. On your way to board your ride vehicle, you’ll first go through an octagon-shaped room that appears to stretch.
Did you even visit Magic Kingdom if you didn’t ride Haunted Mansion? This is an iconic attraction that is a must-ride.
It is family-friendly, but there are darker moments that could scare little ones.
This is one ride that has all kinds of details, so be sure to pay attention. There are even these Dread family busts in the queue’s cemetery that is actually a murder mystery game.
Plus, there are memorable scenes involving Madame Leota, and Constance Hatchaway. The Hatbox Ghost is also coming to the attraction in late November 2023!
Oh, and don’t say we didn’t warn you when you walk off the ride singing “Grim Grinning Ghosts.”
Liberty Square Riverboat
This 17-minute cruise on a steam-powered boat takes you on a 1/2 mile tour around Tom Sawyer Island.
While not a priority, if you’re looking for a good time filler or something less thrilling, you may want to hop on the Liberty Square Riverboat, aka the “Liberty Belle.”
Plus, you get to see unique views of Magic Kingdom. You might even be able to spot the parade or a cavalcade during your ride!
And you certainly can’t beat these views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
The boat ride also offers up views of Tom Sawyer Island and Haunted Mansion.
The Hall of Presidents
This theater (modeled after Independence Hall in Philadelphia) is home to 46 patriotic animatronics modeled after the past and sitting Presidents of the United States.
The Hall of Presidents is where you can see an Audio-Animatronic of every person who has served as President of the United States.
This isn’t a must-do by any means, but makes for a great place to cool off and is a good time filler.
You might even find yourself resting your eyes here and there.
Characters
While not officially listed in the My Disney Experience app, sometimes you can see Princess Tiana waving from the window above the ticket office.
Don’t forget that you can also meet Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall, along with a visiting princess who is usually Rapunzel.
You can also spot Merida at the Enchanted Glade Gazebo in Liberty Square! You can find meet and greet times for the Brave princess inside the My Disney Experience app.

Coin Press Machines
There are 2 coin press machines in Liberty Square. You’ll find a machine between the Liberty Square Riverboat and Haunted Mansion.
The pennies (one for $1 or all 4 for $4) featured the hitchhiking ghosts and Mickey, Donald, and Goofy pretending to be the famous ghosts.
There is also a coin press (one for $1 and all 3 for $3) between Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and Hall of Presidents.
These pennies featuring designs of Hall of Presidents, the Liberty Belle, and Mickey carrying an American flag.
PhotoPass
You can find PhotoPass across from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, which also offers one of the best views of Cinderella Castle.
There’s also a fun PhotoPass option in front of Haunted Mansion!
Don’t forget to ask for Magic Shots here, because usually you’ll find yourself posting with some hitchhiking ghosts.
While not an official PhotoPass location nor is there usually a photographer here, the pillory is a popular spot to take photos in Liberty Square.
Remember: unless you have Memory Maker, Memory Maker Day One, or a PhotoPass entitlement with your Annual Pass, you will have to pay to download or print these photos.
Restrooms
If you’re dining inside Columbia Harbour House, you will find a set of restrooms on the first floor close to where you order and pick up your food.
The following restrooms aren’t technically in Liberty Square, but they are nearby if you needed one.
There is the restroom area that connects Frontierland and Adventureland:
The are also restrooms in the Tangled-themed area next to “it’s a small world”:
Animal Relief Area
You’ll find Liberty Square’s animal relief area near the gazebo, behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.
