Attractions

Two fan-favorite attractions live in Adventureland, along with a few others.

Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise is a river raft ride where animatronic animals and corny jokes abound.

Every Jungle Cruise Skipper has their own “routine” with jokes so every ride is a little bit different. Little ones who are easily scared should maybe be told ahead of time that the animals are all pretend.

  • Height req: None
  • Suitable for: Anybody
  • Attraction length: About 10 minutes
  • Do we recommend? Yes
  • When to visit: 1st or last hour, anytime with Genie+
  • Lightning Lane available: Yes, included with Genie+
  • Eligible for Early Entry: No
  • Tip(s): Ride at night for a unique experience and shorter lines

Jungle Cruise is very fun, slow-moving boat ride that is filled with laughter and jokes thanks to the fantastic skippers.

jungle cruise standby and lightning lane

And, yes, the point of the ride is to be silly and corny. That’s what makes it so great! You will never meet a ride that has so many puns.

seating on the jungle cruise boat

Jungle Cruise is super popular. Wait times build quickly here, so if you have access to the Lightning Lane, you will definitely want to book this early on in the day.

jungle cruise scene at magic kingdom

If you’re visiting during Christmas at Disney World, the ride receives a holiday overlay in the form of Jingle Cruise. It’s basically the same ride, except for holiday-themed props, decor, and jokes.

Pirates of the Caribbean

An 8 1/2 minute gentle boat ride through a Caribbean city of pirates. This attraction has over 125 animatronics, including 3 Jack Sparrows so be on the lookout for those.

  • Attraction length: About 8 minutes
  • Do we recommend? Yes
  • When to visit: First 2 or last 2 hours, anytime with Genie+
  • Lightning Lane available: Yes, included with Genie+
  • Eligible for Early Entry: No
  • Tip(s): There’s a little drop at the beginning of the ride and it’s dark, but if you warn little ones and make it playful, they should be able to ride without much trouble

Yo ho, yo ho, is a pirate’s life for you? In our opinion, it definitely should be.

pirates of the caribbean standby and lightning lane at magic kingdom

Pirates of the Caribbean is an absolute must. The dark boat ride continues to be a fan-favorite and for good reason.

It’s family-friendly. It’s fun. It includes Captain Jack Sparrow. And, of course, we can’t forget about Redd the pirate.

pirates of the caribbean jail scene

You can find both a Standby Line and a Lightning Lane here, the latter available to those who have purchased Genie+.

Keep in mind, there are darker moments and a drop that could frighten little ones.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

This is essentially Dumbo but with carpets. If you need to pare down your list of rides to fit them all in, this is definitely one that could be taken off. If you happen to have little ones who like the Dumbo-like rides, this will be fun for them.

  • Height req: None
  • Suitable for: Anybody
  • Attraction length: About 90 seconds
  • Do we recommend? For families with little ones and/or only as a time filler
  • When to visit: Anytime, anytime with Genie+
  • Lightning Lane available: Yes, included with Genie+
  • Eligible for Early Entry: No
  • Tip(s): Look for the camels that spit.

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is just like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and TriceraTop Spin, but themed to Aladdin.

You fly around in a circle on “magic carpets”.

The lever in the front row makes the carpet go up and down, while the lever in the back tips the carpet forward and backwards.

You also get some very cool views of Adventureland while flying high up in the air.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

A show featuring over 300 animatronic birds, flowers, and other things that perform various songs, including some Disney tunes.

  • Height req: None
  • Suitable for: Older kids and adults
  • Attraction length: About 16 minutes
  • Do we recommend? Only for people who like it for nostalgic reasons
  • When to visit: Anytime
  • Lightning Lane available: No
  • Available for Early Entry: No
  • Tip(s): It’s dark inside so prepare little ones with that info ahead of time.

Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is one of the most nostalgic rides at Walt Disney World.

enchanted tiki room at magic kingdom

While the Tiki Room was near and dear to Walt Disney’s heart, it also came to life thanks to Harriet Burns, the first woman hired by WED Enterprises (aka Walt Disney Imagineering).

Burns designed singing birds the Tiki Room, which was the first attraction in Disney history to feature Audio-Animatronics technology.

enchanted tiki room at magic kingdom

It’s far from a thrill ride or anything super exciting. But, if you want to experience full-on Disney nostalgia, this is the attraction for that.

We definitely recommend trying it at least once.

Swiss Family Treehouse

Essentially a big walk through treehouse that allows kids to burn off some energy. It’s themed after the Swiss Family Robinson movie and involves climbing through various rooms and stairs.

  • Height req: None
  • Suitable for: Anybody who is able to climb 116 stairs
  • Attraction length: As long as it takes you to climb up and back down
  • Do we recommend? Only as a time filler
  • When to visit: Anytime
  • Lightning Lane available: No
  • Eligible for Early Entry: No
  • Tip(s): The whole attraction takes about 15 minutes, don’t visit if there appears to be a line.

The Swiss Family Treehouse is a unique attraction at Magic Kingdom that you can find in Adventureland.

swiss family treehouse magic kingdom

It’s definitely not a must-do, but makes for a good time filler, if you need something to do while you’re waiting for someone, or if a little one needs to burn off energy.

Plus, you get so see awesome views.
