Important Adventureland dining news
While we don’t have many details yet, including an opening date or an exact location, we do know that a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge is coming to Adventureland!
According to Disney, “This first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” Imagineers are currently in the design process now and more details are coming in the future.

Type of food: American
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner

- Pros: Easier spot to get into than most other Quick Service spots, nice spot to sit and relax even when the restaurant isn’t open
- Cons: Only open seasonally
Tortuga Tavern isn’t the most popular Quick Service option at Magic Kingdom, but it has great outdoor seating and its own set of restrooms, which are definitely both wins.
The restaurant is usually open seasonally. Be sure to also check the hours, because Tortuga Tavern typically has shortened hours compared to many other Quick Service spots.
Mobile Order also isn’t available here, so keep that in mind.
Spring Roll Wagon
You’re lucky if the Spring Roll Wagon is open during your visit to the Magic Kingdom.
This is a popular Quick Service spot serving two kinds of spring rolls, including the popular Cheeseburger Spring Rolls.
Popcorn Cart
Across from Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, you can find a popcorn cart.
In addition to delicious Disney popcorn, the menu also includes glazed nuts, cotton candy, ice cream, and bottled beverages.

- On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 table service credit
- Pros: Heavily themed with interesting food options, great service, delicious food and drinks

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is one of the more adventurous places to eat Magic Kingdom, but also one of the better Table Service options.
Not only will your servers make you laugh, but it’s themed after the Jungle Cruise.
The food is delicious. You can also order specialty cocktails, along with a variety of non-alcoholic offerings.
Be sure to also order from the “Not So Secret Menu”! The Pao de Queijo (aka Brazilian cheese bread) served with a chimichurri sauce is absolutely fantastic.
If this is at the top of your list, be sure to make a dining reservation!

If you’re looking for a place to sit down while you eat your Dole Whip, there are a couple options.
Tortuga Tavern has plenty of outdoor seating, with many tables that are covered:
You can find these built-in stone benches across from Sunshine Tree Terrace:

There are tables with chairs close to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, as well:
Shops
Bwana Bobs
As soon as you enter Adventureland, you’ll stumble upon Bwana Bobs, a small merchandise cart.
You can only buy select items here, including Minnie ears and Disney hats.
Island Supply by Sunglass Hut
Island Supply by Sunglass Hut is where you can go to buy sunglasses.
There are a range of sunglass options here. Sometimes you can even find special Disney designs.
Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar
The Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar is the store you exit into after getting off Pirates of the Caribbean.
This store has all kinds of Pirates of the Caribbean-themed items, like shirts, toys, bags, and more.
La Princesa de Cristal
La Princesa de Cristal is a small cart featuring Arribas Brothers crystal and glassware, cut crystal, blown glass, and crystal figurines.
You can also find a bigger La Princesa de Cristal shop inside the Mexico pavilion at Epcot.
Attractions
Two fan-favorite attractions live in Adventureland, along with a few others.
Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is a river raft ride where animatronic animals and corny jokes abound.
Every Jungle Cruise Skipper has their own “routine” with jokes so every ride is a little bit different. Little ones who are easily scared should maybe be told ahead of time that the animals are all pretend.
Jungle Cruise is very fun, slow-moving boat ride that is filled with laughter and jokes thanks to the fantastic skippers.
And, yes, the point of the ride is to be silly and corny. That’s what makes it so great! You will never meet a ride that has so many puns.
Jungle Cruise is super popular. Wait times build quickly here, so if you have access to the Lightning Lane, you will definitely want to book this early on in the day.
If you’re visiting during Christmas at Disney World, the ride receives a holiday overlay in the form of Jingle Cruise. It’s basically the same ride, except for holiday-themed props, decor, and jokes.
Pirates of the Caribbean
An 8 1/2 minute gentle boat ride through a Caribbean city of pirates. This attraction has over 125 animatronics, including 3 Jack Sparrows so be on the lookout for those.
Yo ho, yo ho, is a pirate’s life for you? In our opinion, it definitely should be.
Pirates of the Caribbean is an absolute must. The dark boat ride continues to be a fan-favorite and for good reason.
It’s family-friendly. It’s fun. It includes Captain Jack Sparrow. And, of course, we can’t forget about Redd the pirate.
You can find both a Standby Line and a Lightning Lane here, the latter available to those who have purchased Genie+.
Keep in mind, there are darker moments and a drop that could frighten little ones.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
This is essentially Dumbo but with carpets. If you need to pare down your list of rides to fit them all in, this is definitely one that could be taken off. If you happen to have little ones who like the Dumbo-like rides, this will be fun for them.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is just like Dumbo the Flying Elephant and TriceraTop Spin, but themed to Aladdin.
You fly around in a circle on “magic carpets”.
The lever in the front row makes the carpet go up and down, while the lever in the back tips the carpet forward and backwards.
You also get some very cool views of Adventureland while flying high up in the air.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
A show featuring over 300 animatronic birds, flowers, and other things that perform various songs, including some Disney tunes.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is one of the most nostalgic rides at Walt Disney World.
While the Tiki Room was near and dear to Walt Disney’s heart, it also came to life thanks to Harriet Burns, the first woman hired by WED Enterprises (aka Walt Disney Imagineering).
Burns designed singing birds the Tiki Room, which was the first attraction in Disney history to feature Audio-Animatronics technology.
It’s far from a thrill ride or anything super exciting. But, if you want to experience full-on Disney nostalgia, this is the attraction for that.
We definitely recommend trying it at least once.
Swiss Family Treehouse
Essentially a big walk through treehouse that allows kids to burn off some energy. It’s themed after the Swiss Family Robinson movie and involves climbing through various rooms and stairs.
The Swiss Family Treehouse is a unique attraction at Magic Kingdom that you can find in Adventureland.
It’s definitely not a must-do, but makes for a good time filler, if you need something to do while you’re waiting for someone, or if a little one needs to burn off energy.
Plus, you get so see awesome views.
Where else can you see the top of Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, and TRON Lightcycle / Run all at once?
Characters
There are several characters to meet in Adventureland.
Aladdin and Jasmine appear together throughout the day at the Agrabah Bazaar next to Aloha Isle.
You can find daily meet and greet times for them in the My Disney Experience app.
Aladdin
Jasmine
Across from Pirates of the Caribbean, you’ll also spot the Captain Jack Sparrow. His meet and greet times are in the My Disney Experience app.
Captain Jack Sparrow
Activities
Coin Press Machines
Near the Jungle Cruise, there are souvenir Adventureland pennies. You can either purchase one for $1 or get all 4 for $4.
Pirate-themed pennies can be found at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar. You can buy one for $1 or all 8 for $5.
A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas
At no cost, you can join this interactive hunt for secret treasures hidden throughout Adventureland.
Head over to The Crow’s Nest. Look for the sign that reads “A Pirate’s Adventure” hanging on the building at the far end of Adventureland as you make your way to Frontierland.
You may start your adventure up until 30 minutes before Adventureland closes.
All you have to do is use your MagicBand or card or pick up a magic talisman, a special card for the treasure hunt.
There are 5 mission and they each take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Missions have no time limit. You can stop and restart each at your convenience throughout the day.
When you complete each mission, you’ll receive a special treasure finder card.
After you collect all 5, you’ll get your hands on the sixth and final card — signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
Liki Tikis
Across from The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and above where you get in line for the Jungle Cruise, you’ll see the Liki Tikis, aka a misting station.
This is great to walk through on a hot day. Plus, littles ones can’t get enough of it.
PhotoPass
Keep your eyes peeled for a PhotoPass photographer at the Adventureland entrance.
Don’t forget to ask for Magic Shots!
Remember: unless you have Memory Maker, Memory Maker Day One, or a PhotoPass entitlement with your Annual Pass, you will have to pay to download or print these photos.
Restrooms
You can find restrooms at three different locations in Adventureland:
At the Adventureland Breezeway (between Island Supply and Skipper Canteen) that leads into Liberty Square and Frontierland:
There are also restrooms as you exit Pirates of the Caribbean (in the gift shop to the left). You can also find a sign around the corner from La Princesa de Cristal and take the back path to these restrooms:
Tortuga Tavern also has restrooms:
Animal Relief Area
You’ll find Adventureland’s animal relief area next to A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasure of the Seven Seas and a sign pointing to the restrooms.
