Lotus House Menu & Review (2024 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival)

Lotus House Menu & Review (2024 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival)

The Lotus House booth is in the China pavilion, meaning this is typically a busy area thanks to Frozen Ever After being right next door.

The line can grow here, so plan accordingly.

We aren’t usually fans of this booth at any festival, especially thanks to the drinks being bad and way overpriced. Unfortunately, we still aren’t fans of the food and most of the drinks.

We do recommend Mango Bubble Milk Tea as a non-alcoholic beverage. The presentation is nice and you get a lot for your money.

It’s also important to note that there is finally a vegan option at Lotus House — the Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings. They aren’t labeled as plant-based, but they are.

While they’re not the most amazing dumplings we’ve ever had, it’s great to see another choice for vegans and vegetarians at the festival.

Be sure to check our 2024 Lotus House must-tries, photos, full reviews, and ratings below.

When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.

Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.

Shannon (Founder)

  • Likes: Almost everything
  • Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Heather (Editor)

  • Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
  • Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
  • Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy

Felicia (Content Manager)

  • Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
  • Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer

A mala spiced chicken skewer topped with a creamy peanut sauce.

Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer 2024
  • Price: $6.75
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 1.7/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Strange texture, has a bit of a kick.
Heather: So fatty. How? It’s chicken. But the texture is not good.
Felicia: The chicken is mushy which is weird. The flavor is okay, not great. Strong peanut flavor and it’s rather salty. I wouldn’t recommend this.

House-made Cheesy Crab Wontons

These are house-made crispy wontons filled with a cheesy crab mixture.

House-made Cheesy Crab Wontons 2024
  • Price: $8.25
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 2.5/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Wanted to love these but the sauce made it soggy and the filling lacked flavor.
Felicia: These are good but nothing special. Standard crab wontons with a sweet and spicy sauce. Fine but not worth stopping.

Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings

Pan fried dumplings stuffed with a vegetable mixture.

Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings 2024
  • Price: $5.50
  • Special Diets: Plant-based
  • Rating: 2.3/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: 2 little dumplings that taste so bland and salty.
Heather: I really wanted to like these! They were difficult to eat and had an odd flavor. PLUS – the portion sidz is ridiculously small. It almost feels like a joke.
Felicia: Wow, this is gross. Bitter and sour and don’t taste like veggies or dumplings.

Mango Bubble Tea

A tropical bubble tea with mango flavoring.

Mango Bubble Tea 2024
  • Price: $7.75
  • Made with alcohol? No
  • Rating: 2.3/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Always try to root for the non-alcoholic drink options, but can’t get behind this one that is a generous size but awful syrupy taste.
Heather: Pretty good for a flavored tea – definitely taste the mango. Just a bit sweet for my tastes but I can appreciate that others may like it.
Felicia: Tastes watery and super sweet. Like sugar. Faint mango flavor.

Brew Hub Honey Jasmine Lager

A light lager brewed with honey and jasmine by Brew Hub Brewing in Lakeland, FL.

Brew Hub Honey Jasmine Lager 2024
  • Price: $5.50 (6 oz.) / $9.75 (12 oz.)
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 3.7/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Finally, something to like at this booth! Delicious. Light.
Heather: If you are going to get anything from here, make it one of these. Floral accents come through this delicious lager. Light and refreshing to quench your thirst after standing in an annoyingly long line.
Felicia: Sweet and skunky and kind of watery. Jasmine flavor is also kind of overwhelming. It’s unique for a beer but not necessarily in a good way.

Dragon Dynasty

A fruity cocktail with Baijiu spirit, light rum, dragon fruit syrup, piña colada mix, and soda water.

Dragon Dynasty 2024
  • Price: $14.50
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 2.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: How does the description have so many things listed but none of them come through except for an artificial flavor.
Heather: This tastes like a pre-made drink (which it is), but you are paying for alcohol without any of the flavor (aside from a slight hint of coconut). Over priced for what it is!
Felicia: Very artificial tasting. Not super strong and a light coconut flavor but can’t get over the fake taste.

Lucky Peach

A strong cocktail made with peach whiskey, oolong tea, honey, lemon juice, and soda water.

Lucky Peach 2024
  • Price: $14.25
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 2.3/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Where’s the peach? Didn’t taste like much of anything, but it’s a decent portion that could be refreshing on a hot day.
Heather: Again – sweet, mass produced cocktail with zero flavor other than a bit of peach. Very watery.
Felicia: Yum! I like this. Not too strong and the peach flavor is perfect with the tea and whiskey. Very refreshing,

Tropical Moon

Tropical Moon is Smirnoff Vodka, Triple Sec, passion fruit, soda water and white boba pearls.

Tropical Moon 2024
  • Price: $14.00
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 2.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Man. Sickening sweet. No no.
Heather: I’ve had some really tasty drinks at the festival but this just feels cheap.
Felicia: Best drink I’ve had at a China booth. It’s still too sweet for my liking but the liquor doesn’t assault your mouth and the tropical flavors are fun.
