If you find yourself in the America pavilion, aka The American Adventure, you’ll see the Magnolia Terrace booth.
This outdoor kitchen focuses on serving dishes inspired by the bayou and classic comfort food of the American Gulf Coast.
There are several new food options here, along with the return of the Spicy Chicken Gumbo with Andouille sausage and BEN’S ORIGINAL Long Grain & Wild Rice.
Most of the cocktails were available during last year’s festival, as well, including the Bayou Cocktail with Bayou Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, Fruit Punch and Orange Juice.
This is far from our favorite booth, but there are a few good menu options that we’d order again, especially the Muffuletta Panini, Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, and the beer flight.
Be sure to check back our 2023 Magnolia Terrace must-trys, photos, full reviews, and ratings below.

Review Disclaimer
When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.
Shannon (Founder)
- Likes: Almost everything
- Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Heather (Editor)
- Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
- Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
- Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy
Felicia (Content Manager)
- Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
- Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Allyson (Managing Writer)
- Likes: Cheesecake (the more sweets, the better), anything mint, hazy IPAs and wheat beers (big beer fan), tofu and most Impossible dishes, mushrooms
- Dislikes: Wine (only likes a few dry ones), cream ales and stouts/porters, super sweet cocktails, floral flavors (lavender, rose), anything almond-flavored, things that are too spicy, olives, meat and seafood (see below)
- Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian (personal choice)
Photos & Reviews
Muffuletta Panini
A muffuletta panini with ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, and Swiss with olive salad. This is a new festival item for 2023.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Nice portion, good flavors. Slightly salty.
Heather: So very good. Love the olives. Great flavor – nice portion size
Felicia: Huge portion, so much delicious melty cheese, salty olive salad complements that complements the sandwich well. The bread on the muffuletta is crispy and great.
Spicy Chicken Gumbo
Spicy chicken gumbo with andouille sausage and BEN’S ORIGINAL™ Long Grain & Wild Rice.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Generous portion but tastes like spicy, salty brown gravy. No thanks.
Heather: TOO SPICY for my delicate, soft, sensitive mouth but I think if I push through the pain there is good flavor.
Felicia: This is spicy and salty and has a decent flavor. The chicken texture is kind of gross. Just okay.
Crawfish Pie
A crawfish pie topped with a flaky crust. This is a new festival item for 2023.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Awkward to cut into, very fishy flavor.
Felicia: Fishy and creamy and gross. I think it’s fine probably if this is your sort of food, but I didn’t care for it.
Banana Foster Bread Pudding
A bananas foster bread pudding. This is a new festival item for 2023.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Slightly sweet. Great flavors. Nice balance to the other items at this booth.
Heather: Very moist and honestly not too sweet. The bread is nicely done, caramel tastes yummy.
Felicia: A little too mushy but the flavors are great. Nice spice to it, the sauce is delicious and the bananas are cooked well.
Allyson: I’m not a huge bread pudding person and this just proves why. The mushy texture is unappealing especially in the heat.
Bayou Cocktail
Bayou Cocktail, which is Bayou Spiced Rum, coconut rum, fruit punch, and Minute Maid Orange Juice.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Hard to go wrong with rum and fruit punch. Delicious. Decent portion.
Heather: I really like it but coconut in the USA is confusing to my brain.
Felicia: This is super sweet and the coconut flavor is pretty strong. Slight fruit punch flavor.
Allyson: This tastes much better than last year and not overly sweet. Good for a hot day.
Central 28 Beer Co. Pretty Things Ale
An ale brewed by Central 28 Beer Co. in Debary, Florida. This is a new beer for 2023.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: One of the best light and refreshing beers I’ve had. Would order full sized.
Heather: Honestly not a lot of flavor. Good to wash the spicy I’m on down or as part of a flight, but not special enough to order a full size of.
Felicia: Loved this. Like but with big flavor. Not hoppy or bitter.
Allyson: It’s an ok lighter beer. Not a standout.
Wicked Weed Brewing Day Light American Light Ale
A Day Light American Light Ale brewed by Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Tastes….stinky? Idk. Didn’t like it.
Heather: It’s aight.
Felicia: Great for the heat. It’s so light and refreshing and easy to drink. Would be good for watching Garden Rocks concert.
Allyson: A crisp light beer that’s good for a hot day. Had good flavor too.
Parish Brewing Co. Ghost in the Machine Double IPA
Ghost in the Machine Double IPA brewed by Parish Brewing Co. in Broussard, Louisiana.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: One of the best IPAs I’ve had. Really light and refreshing.
Heather: Double IPAs are the jam. They give you flavor without tasting pretentious.
Felicia: Very good for an IPA. Smoother than most and the hoppy flavor is relatively mellow. Liked this.
Allyson: Loooove this. Definitely my favorite beer at this booth. Yum!
