I don’t see a Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic breakfast package? I’m trying to decide what’s more important; early breakfast for Jedi Training or a Fantasmic dining package for lunch or dinner? Help? Advice?

Daniela Garcia

I also didn’t see Starring Rills Cafe, I heard there are really good cupcakes there and we were planning to visit SR on our visit in September.

Esther Grenz

Hi Shannon,
Thanks for all your great info! I was excited to see that we can do Hollywood & Vine with the Fantasmic package all for 1 table credit, that surprised me! But when I go to the reservations on MyDisneyExperience, I don’t see anyway to specify that I want a package — it just looks like normal reservations. Any suggestions?

Giselle Devane

What is the seating arrangement at the Tune-in Lounge? Do you need to sit at the bar to be able to order(and eat) an entree from their menu? Or do they have tables? How easy/hard would it be to get a seat during dinner? Is it child friendly?

Also, just as an FYI, your High Octane link links to Casey’s Corner menu.

Cass

I’m trying to decide where to eat for lunch at Hollywood Studios. I will be there for one day and I’m not sure if this will be my only visit to WDW in my lifetime. I’m having an early dinner at the Sci-Fi Drive in. I’m deciding if I sure go to the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge or not. I’m slightly budget conscious (less than $35).

Kayla

What about the little coffee cart at the exit of Tower of Terror? Did I miss it on this list? It’s one of my favorite stops in the park!

Linda Reynolds

Oasis Canteen only has chicken nuggets now—no funnel cakes

Jody

We got the show package for Hollywood and Vine with a lunch reservation for our vacation in September so it apparently does not require a Dinner reservation. We did have to call the hotline to get it though.

Jennifer Johnston

Is Hollywood & Vine the only place to eat breakfast while at HS? Does the Trolley Car offer more than coffee drinks?

Are you able to make reservations at Quick Service restaurants, or only Table Service restaurants?

Thank you so much!

Becky

Hi Shannon- you’ve suggested paying out of pocket vs. using dining credits for Brown Derby. We have the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg. booked 12/11/15. Are we able to pay out of pocket if this is a Fantasmic Pkg deal? Your description in the package confuses me because we would probably not be eating an appetizer, entree & dessert if we were paying for that meal. Can we utilize the Pkg deal and possibly split 3-4 apps, entrees and desserts among 5 adults.

Stephanie C

Does anyone know if they will be adding Dinner at H&V for February? Currently only breakfast & lunch are options but I think my daughter would enjoy Minnie & Friends more! (plus then we aren’t butting up against nap time!

Kathy

Could someone pleases tell me what Mickey Check Meals are for children? Are they part of the dining plan? Thank you

Carrie

Mickey Check meals are part of the dining plan for children. They are meals that have been approved to be nutritious and well balanced. They are basically approved as healthy options. Basically like a weightwatchers logo, or a “this food is healthy” sticker on the items so parents aren’t feeding their kids junk all week, but I say, you can’t have vacation without a little bit of junk food…

Lindsey

If I book Hollywood and Vine at lunch could I get a character meal and the Fastasmic package if I want. We are going in April at a slower time so hoping I can get both.

Amy Bell

Do you know anything about the fantasmic package being offered at Hollywood and vine in January? I called to make reservations for it for a lunch there to get the package and the cast member said they didn’t have any options for that yet.. Wasn’t sure if they were doing something different? We are going the week of January 24th.

Kelsey

I am going February, 2016. Fantasmic took forever to be released. Finally was able to secure character dining for lunch at Hollywood and Vine with Fantasmic Package in. This reservation finally became available, if memory serves me correctly, around the last week of September, maybe first week in October. I had to call for reservations. I was never able to see available times online or on the Disney app.

Cindy

I also was not able to get the Fantasmic dinner package for the end of February

Sydney Fischer

I wanted to say uickly that i was very disappointed in the sci fi dine in resturant. The resturant did not have good food options

Julie

Totally agree. Service and food were both poor when we went.

Rachel

Hey Shannon! Your High Octane link actually links to Casey’s Corner Menu. Just wanted to let you know!

Casey

We’re thinking of booking H&V for the FDP in December when we visit. I hear this is the ONLY place to meet Doc McStuffins, is that true? We’re thinking this would be a great first night at Disney experience. Your site is keeping me sane, by the way!

Casey

Ohhh good to know! I hope we can meet her elsewhere, because Mama’s seems better suited to our taste for FDP and we’re only doing 1 day in HS. Thanks for the reply!

Doug Michel

We tried several different HS restaurants last June when we went. We enjoyed Mama Melrose very much, and Pizza Planet pizza was better than the pizza served at the restaurant in Fantasyland in MK. We were highly disappointed in the SciFi Theater because our lunch reservation was changed to a Star Wars theme breakfast. It cost 160 for 4 of us, and it was breakfast foods, and extremely brief character appearances. As always, 50s diner is a favorite for my family. Hope to return in 2017 or 2018 and will definitely check this website for planning info.

We loved the character dining at Hollywood & Vine. The food was average, but the experience was exceptional. Our kids were ages 2 and 6 at that time. It was nice for them to be able to get up and dance with the characters, rather than having to stay in their seats the whole time. The characters perform right in the middle of the restaurant. There really isn’t a bad seat.

My family and I went in December 2010 to Mama Melrose and Hollywood and Vine. We didn’t love either, though Mama Melrose was quite good, but Hollywood and Vine didn’t really do it for us. It didn’t have any charm or character, not great service or great food. On our last trip in May 2013 we ate at Hollywood Brown Derby though and ABSOLUTELY fell in love! Our experience there was amazing! We had the most accommodating waitress and the service was great, it was a very classy and relaxed environment and the food was such great quality! One of our family’s biggest pet peeves with Disney restaurants is that we often feel rushed. Its not that we take forever to eat, but sometimes we feel like there is hardly time to finish a meal before the next is brought or that they are pushing for you to make menu decisions. Consistently great restaurants for us are Tusker House, Boma, Hollywood Brown Derby, Via Napoli and Chefs De France! We loved eating there and make sure to stop at them every trip!

We enjoyed our dinner meal at Holly & Vine in August. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much after reading reviews from different sources, but the food was very good and just different enough to be fun – not just another boring buffet. My parents would not have enjoyed 50s Prime Time or Sci Fi (and we couldn’t get into Mama Melrose’s), so H & V was a good choice for us as part of the Fantasmic package.

We love Sci Fi, great food, lots of fun sitting in the cars! Will definitely go again. Just went to 50’s prime time, it was pretty good, probably won’t go again, it was a little weird, waitress was over the top.

For me, the biggest “pro” at Hollywood & Vine is that the characters invite kids to come and with them when performing every 15 minutes. If your kids are at an age where they don’t like sitting at a table/booth for long periods of time, this gives them a great excuse to get up and move.

Thanks for the info. We have yet to find a favorite at Hollywood Studios like at the other parks. We are trying Hollywood and Vine this year and maybe Fairfax Fare for the brisket. I really love your site. We go every fall to WDW. Wish I found you a few years ago!

50’s Prime Time Café is our favorite restaurant at Hollywood Studios. I don’t think the waiters would be called abrasive, but if you don’t have a sense of humor, it might not be the place for you. We’ve always had a wonderful and fun time here! Love it!

We stumbled upon the Sci- Fi resturant when we were at Hollywood Studios back in April. We didn’t use our DP credits as those were all booked but we had a great time there. My then 2 year old realy enjoyed it too and it was a nice little break! All of our meals were character meals so this was a nice break from that and we all enjoyed it!

When we pay oop for meals on the dining plan, we always pay for the cheapest meals oop. Breakfasts at Boma specifically… Doesn’t that sound cheaper than paying for a signature meal?

50’s Prime Time is one of our favorites and a must do when we go to Hollywood Studios. You forgot one of my other favorites, the Studio Catering Co, I think they have good wraps.

Elise

I have loved 50s Prime Time for years! It’s my favorite!
Absolutely love being transferred back in time! Will be going on my birthday in November!

Elise

Oh my gosh! It IS November! Yay!!!

Sci-fi is one of my favorite places to eat a disney. I had a blast when we went with my parents they were laughing so hard as they had seen all the movies for real at the Drive in when they were younger.
