Belgium Booth Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Belgium Booth Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Calling all Belgian waffle fans. This Epcot Food and Wine Festival marketplace is for you. But, hurry up and eat it fast or the heat will quickly melt the toppings causing the waffles to become inedible thanks to the sogginess.

Is the Belgium booth our favorite? No. Admittedly, you could probably bypass it altogether, though the Belgian waffles make nice kid-friendly options. We prefer the Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream.

There is also the non-alcoholic Chilled Mocha Coffee, which is reasonably priced and a decent caffeinated beverage for those who need to put a little pep in their step.

We also really enjoyed the Brasserie D’Achouffe Houblon Chouffe IPA and the Chilled Coffee featuring ChocoLat Deluxe Salted Caramel Chocolate Liqueur. Both are refreshing on a hot Disney day.

Important tip: Do not get the Delirium Red Fruit Belgian Ale. This is one of the Food and Wine drinks we hated the most. It tastes like cough syrup.

For those wondering, unlike last year, Belgium is not opening early for breakfast in 2023.

Here’s everything else you need to know about the Belgium booth, including reviews, photos, and our must-trys.

When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.

Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.

Shannon (Founder)

  • Likes: Almost everything
  • Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Heather (Editor)

  • Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
  • Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
  • Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy

Felicia (Content Manager)

  • Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat

  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Photos & Reviews

Beer-braised Beef

A delicious beer braised beef served with smoked Gouda mashed potatoes.

Belgium Beef
  • Price: $6.00
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 2.7/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Good combo of flavors between the meat and potatoes. Gouda in the mashed potatoes a nice touch.
Heather: Loved the mashed potatoes, but the sauce/gravy was a bit too sweet for me. The beef was tender, but it tasted like it came out of a can. Thank you, Dinty Moore.
Felicia: Gross and sweet and mushy and not appetizing to look at. I appreciated this a couple of years ago but really dislike this in recent years.

Belgian Waffle with Warm Chocolate Ganache

Belgian-style waffle topped with a warm chocolate ganache and whipped cream.

Belgium Chocolate Waffle
  • Price: $5.00
  • Special Diets: Kid-friendly
  • Rating: 4.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Mushy and overly sweet.
Heather: Is it a basic wafffle with chocolate sauce? Yes. But is it delicious? Also yes. This is also a great option for kids, and as an added bonus – it isn’t too sweet.
Felicia: This is delicious. Great waffle that isn’t too sweet, the chocolate and whipped cream are delicious. Would happily get this again as a great dessert option.
Allyson: A nice fluffy Belgian Waffle that’s not super heavy. A good kid-friendly option. Warning: it gets soggy real fast on a hot day.

Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote

Belgian-style waffle topped with a berry compote and whipped cream.

Belgium Berry Waffle
  • Price: $5.00
  • Special Diets: Kid-friendly
  • Rating: 3.8/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Little mushy but berries add just the right amount of sweetness.
Heather: I really love the waffles here. They are light and fluffy and the berries are just the right bit of tartness. Like me.
Felicia: This is very good. Great waffle that isn’t too sweet and the berry compote is tart and delicious. Can I just get a bowl of the berries?
Allyson: Similar to the other Belgian Waffle available here, but not as sweet thanks to the berries. I liked this better than the one with chocolate. Kids would like this too.

Belgian Chilled Coffee

A chilled coffee served over ice with milk and sugar.

Belgium Coffee NA
  • Price: $4.75
  • Made with alcohol? No
  • Rating: 3.0/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: Nice option if you want a little caffeine without any alcohol.
Felicia: This has a great flavor like coffee with cream and sugar and chocolate. But it’s a bit much in the heat. Good for those that like sweet and milky coffee drinks.
Allyson: This tastes like watered-down chocolate milk.

Belgian Chilled Coffee with Liqueur

A chilled coffee served over ice with ChocoLat Deluxe Salted Caramel Chocolate Liqueur.

Belgium Coffee Liqueur
  • Price: $12.00
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 3.7/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: Looks heavy but really isn’t. Don’t really taste the alcohol but grab one of these with a waffle.
Felicia: This has a great flavor like coffee with cream and sugar and chocolate. But it’s a bit much in the heat. Good for those that like sweet and milky coffee drinks with liqueur.
Allyson: I think this is tasty, light and not too milky or creamy, especially on a hot day.

Brasserie D’Achouffe Houblon Chouffe IPA

Houblon Chouffe is a bitter but slightly fruity IPA brewed with 3 types of hops by Brasserie D’Achouffe in Achouffe, Belgium.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.

Belgium IPA
  • Price: $5.50 (6 oz.) / $9.50 (12 oz.)
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 3.3/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: Lots of flavor…it’s just the wrong flavors.
Felicia: A nice and drinkable IPA. A little hoppy and fruity. Enjoyable drink.
Allyson: As an IPA fan absolutely love this. YUM!

Brewery Van Steenberge Gulden Draak Tripel Ale

A Belgian dark strong ale brewed by Brewery Van Steenberge in Ertvelde, Belgium.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.

Belgium Tripel
  • Price: $5.50 (6 oz.) / $9.50 (12 oz.)
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 2..3/5

Our Thoughts

Heather: No, thank you.
Felicia: This is a bit too sweet for me. If you like Tripels it’s a good one, but it’s sweet if you don’t know what to expect.
Allyson: This is fine but also not my favorite. A little too sweet for my liking.

Delirium Red Fruit Beer

The Delirium Red Fruit Beer is from the Huyghe Brewery and is a Belgian Fruit Ale.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.

Belgium Delirium Red
  • Price: $5.50 (6 oz.) / $9.50 (12 oz.)
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 1.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Cough syrup. No.
Heather: Tastes like how cough drops smell. Blech.
Felicia: If I could give this a zero, I would. If you want to remember what it feels like to be sick and forced to drink cherry cough syrup, go ahead and get this.
Allyson: Why am I drinking cough syrup? A big nope.
