3 ideas for groups going to Disney World

3 ideas for groups going to Disney World

One thing I am reminded of during holiday and summer trips is just how many groups travel that time of year.

It makes sense with people trying to plan around school schedules and going at a time when everybody is available.

Here are 3 things we’d suggest for groups going to Disney World together.

1. Book a fireworks cruise

There are lots of extra things you can spend money on during a trip, and picking something for a group can be tricky since it’s hard to justify the extra cost per person and it’s hard to choose something that will work for everybody.

One idea that we’d suggest for groups of up to 10 is a fireworks cruise. These are a flat rate and fun for people of all ages.

Here’s how fireworks cruises work

2. Use Standby Skipper

Although we mention Standby Skipper a lot when it comes to making Genie+ easier, it’s worth mentioning for groups since the pricing is so reasonable at $45 for a whole week and up to 12 people.

If you’re the planner for a group and responsible for making Genie+ bookings, this can be an invaluable tool for very little money.

3. Book dining that’s good for groups

Figuring out dining can be tricky with groups because you not only want restaurants that everybody will like, but each restaurant has a different maximum that they allow on a reservation.

We’ve compiled a list of restaurants that allow up to 10 at a time…and what to do if you might need to make multiple reservations.

Tried booking dining for a group once, it was a nightmare. Seems like restaurants could do a better job accommodating larger parties. Not everyone travels in groups of four or less!

Has anyone tried the Standby Skipper for a solo trip? I’m curious if it’s as valuable for individuals as it is for groups. The concept sounds interesting.

Definitely still very useful for a solo traveler, especially if you don't want to be checking your phone every time your Lightning Lane window opens up.

Booking dining for groups can be such a hassle. Found some places are more accommodating than others, though. Would be great to have a list of restaurants known for handling larger parties well!
