Disneyland Park Attractions (with Disney World comparisons)

Disneyland Park Attractions (with Disney World comparisons)

Disneyland is home to both the classic attractions many adults will remember from their childhood as well as some of the newest and best Disney has to offer (like what you can find in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge).

With attractions that appeal to nearly every personality and thrill-seeking level, Disneyland has lots to offer guests of all ages.

Here’s what you will find…

UPDATE: The information below may be impacted by current reopening procedures. Please visit our Disneyland reopening guide for the most up-to-date information.

Disneyland Transportation

Disneyland Park has a couple of types of in-park transportation that Disney considers attractions, but we’re going to talk about them separately since they’re different than a normal attraction.

Disneyland Railroad

Disneyland Railroad

If you ride it all the way around, this railroad is an 18-minute journey around Disneyland park.

The track was recently redone so it can navigate around the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land, and makes stops in 4 places:

  • Main Street, U.S.A. (park entrance)
  • New Orleans Square
  • Mickey’s Toontown
  • Tomorrowland

As you navigate the park, consider hopping on the train to save yourself some steps going to another part of the park.

Disneyland Monorail

Disneyland Monorail

If you’re familiar with the Disney World monorail, the Disneyland monorail will come as a bit of a surprise because it has some definite difference which include:

  • going between Downtown Disney and Tomorrowland inside Disneyland Park
  • allowing passengers to ride up front with the monorail pilot
  • not operating when temps are above 80 degrees

Avoid using the monorail if you are rope dropping the park because it’s not operating at full capacity at that time of day.

The best use of the monorail is to leave Disneyland mid-day, head to Downtown Disney or Disneyland Hotel for food/drink, then head back to Disneyland Park.

If you want to do that, time your day to end up in Tomorrowland mid-day to be near the monorail station.
