Hawaii Booth Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Hawaii Booth Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Aloha from the Hawaii booth, where you can find SPAM sushi. Yes, you read that correctly.

While this isn’t one of our favorite booths, there are a few items that we’d recommend. Before we get to those we have to discuss the one offering that is not worth your time or money.

Which item is that? It’s the Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Pineapple Wine. This is much too sweet and kind of resembles medicine if it were pineapple flavored. You should avoid at all costs.

However, the AULANI Sunrise (Vodka, DOLE Pineapple Juice and Grenadine) and the Kona Brewing Co. Hanalei Island IPA are decent alcoholic drink offerings. The cocktail is refreshing, whereas the beer holds up well on a hot day.

When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.

Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.

Shannon (Founder)

  • Likes: Almost everything
  • Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Heather (Editor)

  • Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
  • Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
  • Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy

Felicia (Content Manager)

  • Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
  • Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Kālua Pork Slider

A small sandwich roll topped with shredded pork, sweet-and-sour DOLE pineapple chutney, and a spicy mayonnaise.

Hawaii SPAM Slider
  • Price: $5.75
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 3.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Delicious little slider. Sweet chutney is a nice mix with the spicy mayo.
Heather: Really great flavor. Tiny hint of spice. Kind of a small portion; though.
Felicia: If you are fine eating this with a fork, it’s pretty delicious. But the bun is so soggy it’s really gross. The pork and toppings are great.

SPAM Musubi Nigiri

SPAM Musubi Nigiri made with Sushi Rice, Teriyaki-Glazed SPAM, Spicy Mayonnaise, Eel Sauce, and Nori.

Hawaii Spam Musubi
  • Price: $6.00
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 4.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Good portion and nice presentation. Oh, and it’s also DELICIOUS. great balance of flavors.
Heather: Eff all the spam hater. Light. Fantastic flavor. Not spicy. Good sized portion.
Felicia: This is delicious and a unique use of SPAM. Great flavors but is a touch salty.

Passion Fruit Cheesecake

A small passion fruit cheesecake topped with toasted macadamia nuts.

Hawaii Passionfruit Cheesecake
  • Price: $4.75
  • Special Diets: N/A
  • Rating: 4.5/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Bland, but decent portion. Wish more of the flavors came through.
Heather: I can’t taste baby passion fruit! Good cheesecake. Just nothing EXTRA. DAZZLE ME, DISNEY.
Felicia: This is a very delicious cheesecake. It didn’t hold up well in the heat, but even then it tasted amazing. Wish it was colder.
Allyson: This is a decent cheesecake, but know it does not hold up well in the heat. You get a good size for the price.

Kona Brewing Co. Hanalei Island IPA

A tropical and hoppy IPA with hints of passionfruit, orange, and guava.

Hawaii Kona IPA
  • Price: $5.50 (6 oz.) / $9.50 (12 oz.)
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 3.5/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Good IPA option. Light, but very hoppy.
Heather: WHYYYYYY. Prove to me that anyone likes regular old IPAs. Super hoppy. Honestly it’s ok, but many other better beer options. Only get it in case of emergency (like if you are on fire or something).
Felicia: Solid beer, however it is widely available so nothing unique or special. I like it and I’ll happily drink it but wouldn’t make a special stop to get it.
Allyson: A solid IPA, but non-IPA drinkers won’t like this. It holds up well on a hot day.

Sparkling Pineapple Wine

A refreshing sparkling wine made with pineapple juice from Florida Orange Groves in St. Petersburg, FL.

Hawaii Pineapple Wine
  • Price: $10.00
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 1.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Cute cup, but way too sweet. Don’t believe anything Heather says.
Heather: I LIKE THIS. Shannon doesn’t, but she’s just silly. Very sweet, though. This isn’t something you drink WITH a meal. No. It’s what you drink INSTEAD of a meal.
Felicia: If you’ve always wanted pineapple flavored medicine, here you go. Absurd price, sickly sweet, and just gross.
Allyson: If I could give this a negative review I would. Tastes like pineapple medicine.

AULANI Sunrise

A tropical and refreshing cocktail made with vodka, DOLE pineapple juice, and grenadine.

Hawaii Aulani Sunrise
  • Price: $14.00
  • Made with alcohol? Yes
  • Rating: 4.0/5

Our Thoughts

Shannon: Like straight fruit juice. Sweet, good portion.
Heather: Lots of Pineapple and potential. But, too sweet.
Felicia: Strong pineapple flavor but overall refreshing and tropical and a very pleasant drink. Love it.
Allyson: Just an ok sweet cocktail that is a bit overpriced for what it is. But I do recognize this may be good on a hotter park day.
