Well, if you thought $20 per ticket per day for Genie+ at Disneyland was too much, you’re not going to like this news.
The price for Genie+ at the happiest place on earth has been increased — by $5.
That’s right, Genie+ now costs $25 per ticket per day when using the new FastPass-style service at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland did not make an announcement about raising the price, but it was quietly updated in the Disneyland app and online.
You also need to know the following:
- Genie+ at Disneyland will now cost $25 per day when purchased in advance as an add-on with a new ticket or vacation packages
- Single-day purchases through the Disneyland app start at $25 per day and may vary by date, based on demand
Here is the new price reflected in the Disneyland app:
And here it is online:
In the app and online, it sates, “…Disney Genie+ service offers even more convenience and flexibility, starting at $25.00 USD per ticket per day. Prices vary by date.”
Be sure to also pay attention to that one phrase: “Prices vary by date.” This means that $25 is the base rate and the price could increase on select dates. For example, we assume Genie+ may cost more during busier times of the year, like over Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We should also note that when Genie+ launched at Disney World, the price was said to be an introductory rate.
And, yes, Disney World has followed in Disneyland’s footsteps by increasing the price of Genie+, along with other items going up in cost. Read more here.
Will you continue to pay for Genie+ at Disneyland now that it costs $25 per ticket per day?
