Lydia’s husband wasn’t looking forward to their first family Disney World trip, and now they’re considering becoming Disney Vacation Club owners. Hear about that in today’s trip report podcast.
I also have a quick tip on catching a special performance at Magic Kingdom.

I would love to know the Tinkerbell gifts you gave to your teenage son. The struggle is real 🙂
Great report, thank you!
Shannon- I loved the surprise at the end of the podcast!! 🙂
I love these trip reports but I think more realistic trip reports would be good like our trip which we learned all about Disney First aid and how they check for concussions and send you the the doctor for ear infections.
Hi Shannon! I heard Lydia mention during the podcast that they were on the deluxe dining plan and that children are no longer required to eat only off of the children’s menu at table service restaurants. We are heading out on our first Disney vacation at the beginning of June and we have a child with dietary restrictions and a 9 yr old that would prefer a larger meal. Any confirmation on the ability to order from the adult menu at all restaurants? This would be great for our family since the children’s menu selections seem to be very limited at many restaurants. Thanks!
Shannon, thank you so much for using my Quick Tip! I was driving home from work yesterday, listening to the podcast and literally squealed with delight when I heard you say my name. I agree that Tony’s Town Square is not the best Disney restaurant, but I’m on a quest to try ALL the eateries and that was one I hadn’t tried yet. The Dapper Dans and my table outside on the veranda made it a great experience. Keep up the great work. You give such wonderful advice and information with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
Hey, Shannon! I heard you mention adding that it’s your birthday on the reservation when you make dining reservations. We’re going in July for my husband’s birthday, but when I made reservations online, I don’t see a place to indicate it’s his birthday (only special dietary requests, etc.). Is there a place online to do this? Thanks for ALL you do- you’re the best!
Hi, Michelle! You’ll need to call to do that. The Cast Member on the phone can make the note on your reservations.
And you can even order a cake with the birthday person’s name! But I don’t know that they do it at Magic Kingdom…. 🙁
