Funnel Cake Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Funnel Cake Menu & Review (2023 Epcot Food & Wine Festival)

Stop the presses. Funnel Cake, the permanent Quick Service location in America, finally has a funnel cake we actually like!

The exclusive 2023 Food and Wine funnel cake is a Candied Bacon Funnel Cake, a funnel cake topped with vanilla ice cream, candied bacon, and maple syrup drizzle.

What makes this year’s funnel cake a good option is it’s a full size funnel cake compared to a mini one that’s been served in previous years. Better yet — the price remains the same and wasn’t increased!

While the ice cream does make it a bit difficult to eat (it melts fast!), this truly isn’t a bad funnel cake.

Note: Keep in mind that more often than not you can only pay with cash or credit here. Other payment systems, including MagicBands and gift cards, don’t usually work.

Here’s what you need to know about Funnel Cake, including our reviews, photos, and must-trys.

When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.

Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.

Shannon (Founder)

  • Likes: Almost everything
  • Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Heather (Editor)

  • Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
  • Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
  • Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy

Felicia (Content Manager)

  • Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
  • Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
  • Dietary Restrictions: None

Our Thoughts

Heather: This is the best festival funnel cake that we’ve seen in a LONG time. The downside is the ice cream; it melts SO fast, but overall, pretty darn good AND it is a full-size (not a small one like we’ve seen in the past).
Felicia: The best funnel cake that’s been offered during a festival since we started doing reviews. It’s a full size funnel cake as opposed to a mini one in previous years. The price didn’t change so that’s good. And then flavors all go together well. My one complaint is that the ice cream makes it difficult to eat.
