Disneyland sleeping beauty castle

Today, I have a different kind of first-timer trip report because this one comes from a Disneyland pro who just returned from her Disney World trip with her family.

I also have a quick tip of the day about scheduling a wake-up call in your Disney World resort room.

Quick tip of the day

When you’re staying on-site, you can get a wake up call from a character. Put the phone on speakerphone to allow everybody to hear it. Currently, the character that calls is Olaf.

I loved reading these posts and listening to this podcast! We are from the southeast and are blessed to take frequent trips to Disney World. I never imagined I would have the opportunity to visit Disneyland, but when circumstances found us in southern California, we knew we had to include Disneyland in our travel plans! Casey captured my exact feelings regarding the uniqueness of each park–how they can be so different, yet similar and perfect each in their own way! Thank you both for sharing this wonderful experience with your readers!

This is perfect timing! As a Sacramento native, (now transplanted in Kentucky), I grew up with a few trips to Disneyland and later California Adventure under my belt. With this site’s help, I’ve been planning since March for our 1st WDW trip in October and our 5yo daughter’s 1st Disney anything. JUST booked our fast passes this weekend (snagged Anna+Elsa! and Mine Train thanks to Shannon’s advice sessions on Facebook), so we’re less than 60 days out. LOVED this comparison look between what I’m familiar with and what will be on this trip. Perfect comparison of Winchester Mystery House to Haunted Mansion, but it IS a California kind of reference. 🙂

As a gal who enjoys listening and learning from both you, Shannon, and Casey, this was such a fun episode. So much of what Casey enjoyed at WDW was similar to my own experience as more of a Disneyland fan. As I’ve had opportunity to visit both parks, there’s much to love whether in California or Florida!

I just got back from a five night stay at Coronado Springs and had the best time! Even though I went during the busy season I barely waited in any lines and was able to do everything I wanted!

Anybody else fall in love with the Hollywood Studi Anybody else fall in love with the Hollywood Studios decor and want to have these vintage Christmas ceramics at home? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Here’s how.

For original vintage pieces, search “Lefton Christmas ceramics” or “Napco Christmas ceramics.” These often run you $100+ and can usually be found on Etsy, eBay, and other resale stores.

For less expensive replicas, check out VermontCountryStore.com which has a small - but more affordable - collection, including the trio of candy cane girls.

They haven’t been appearing as reliably as Alice, Mary Poppins, Joy, and Winnie the Pooh, but be sure to be on the lookout when passing the Royal Sommerhus in Norway where they might just show up.
