Should I do the Christmas party or Jollywood Nights?

With the announcement that Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios will be returning for the 2024 holidays, many people are trying to decide between attending that or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

Here are some things to consider when trying to decide.

Ever been to the Christmas party?

If you’ve never been to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP), then we suggest that you attend it as it’s where most Magic Kingdom Christmas fun can be found.

(Surprisingly, Magic Kingdom doesn’t have much to look at outside of the Main Street area unless you attend the party.)

It’s definitely worth seeing for the parade, characters, fireworks, and snoap on Main Street.

However, if you have been to the Christmas party before, it is very similar each year and you might want to try something new.

Family friendly vs. adult friendly

We know that the Christmas party is very family friendly (other than the late hours which kids often can’t stay awake for!) with all of the characters, entertainment, and treats.

However, Jollywood Nights is more aimed at adults and older kids with a later start time and a focus on drinks and more adult-like entertainment.

With little ones, we’d pick the Christmas party. With adults (especially adults that had done MVMCP previously), we’d definitely give Jollywood Nights a try.
