If you’re planning on attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party this year, you definitely need to know what to expect entertainment-wise.
If we do say so ourselves, the special-ticketed event has some great entertainment, especially the popular parade that will have you walking away singing, “Boo to you! Happy Halloween!”
Here we go over the 2023 MNSHHP entertainment, along with times, locations, and tips.
Let’s get to it!
2023 MNSSHP Entertainment
There is quite a bit of entertainment to experience during the 2023 MNSSHP, including two new additions: one featuring Max Goof in his Powerline outfit and another starring a spirited pirate band in Adventureland.
2023 party dates are as follows:
- August: 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
- September: 1, 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29
- October: 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31
- November: 1
Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade
Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade celebrates all things spooky — but in a Disney-friendly way.
You’ll be able to see beloved characters in costume, Haunted Mansion’s grave diggers and Constance Hatchaway, guitar-playing and singing skeletons, and so much more.
The parade is held twice nightly during the party, with the first showing at 9:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.
It kicks off in Frontierland taking the normal parade route and ending on Main Street, U.S.A. by the fire station.
The second parade is usually the least crowded. Keep in mind that the parade will enter the Main Street area about 15 minutes after the official parade start time. We recommend watching the second parade in Frontierland for easiest viewing.
In the past, guests along Main Street waiting for the parade to start were also treated to a Zootopia Party Patrol which featured Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia. But, now, Max Goof dresses in his Powerline outfit and leads the parade with his 90s dance crew.
It is important to note that Max Goof and friends can only be found on Main Street U.S.A. and in the Town Square areas. So, if you want to see him, you’ll need to grab a parade spot here.
Even before the parade starts, there is one major highlight and a truly signature moment of the entire evening: the appearance of the Headless Horseman.
Be sure to also keep your eyes peeled for some of the new (and new-ish) additions to the parade this year, like:
- Daisy, Clarabelle, and Minnie on the first float as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus
- Ursula gliding down the parade route with Flotsam and Jetsam puppets
- Cruella being driven in her car by Jasper and Horace (she used to walk the parade)
- Goofy on the Halloween Hoedown silo float (replaced Clarabelle since she is now a “Sanderson Sister”)
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Are you ready to have a spell put on you? By the Sanderson Sisters, that is.
The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is a show that happens at various times on the Cinderella Castle stage. It’s one you shouldn’t miss and thankfully you have many chances to catch it.
Winifred, Mary, and Sarah sing and dance, alongside some other wickedly entertaining villains (Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas, among others).
The villainous stage show runs at 3 different times in August and September and 4 times in October.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
While HalloWishes no longer runs (it came to a close in 2018), Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is another nighttime spectacular starring Jack Skellington as the narrator.
There are spooky tunes, lasers, projections on Cinderella Castle, and fireworks.
Even Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy join in the spook-tacular show. Keep in mind that the fireworks extravaganza only takes place once during the party.
Because of the use of projections, much like Happily Ever After (the regular nighttime show), the best views will be close to the castle.
There are also two dessert parties you can book for the Halloween party fireworks, but we don’t recommend either.
The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
The Cadaver Dans, aka the Dapper Dans dressed up in their Halloween best, sing popular “tombs” for guests in Frontierland.
You should be able to watch them at various times throughout the party, but you certainly can’t miss them thanks to their costumes, makeups, and ghoulish voices.
Disney Junior Jam
The Disney Junior Jam in Cosmic Ray’s is an entertaining dance party, where you can sing and dance alongside some favorite Disney Junior characters.
You can expect Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, and Timon!
In past years, you could find Disney Junior Jam in Storybook Circus, but it shifted to a new location for the 2023 party.
Cosmic Ray’s is also available to party guests to purchase food (Mobile Order isn’t available). It does get busy here for those who want to check out the dance party, eat, or want an indoor spot to relax and cool off.
The dance party runs all night, so you can check it out whenever you have a free moment.
ZOM-BEATZ-BASH
ZOM-BEATZ BASH is a dance party featuring Zombies and Cheerleaders on the main stage in Tomorrowland (last year it was held inside Cosmic Ray’s). There’s even music inspired by the ZOMBIES original movies on Disney Channel.
ZOM-BEATZ-BASH replaced the Descendance Party that was last held in 2019.
The dance party runs for the duration of MNSSHP on the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland.
Rusty Cutlass
New for 2023, Adventureland is taken over by a spirited pirate band and their crew. Be sure to listen for their sea shanties while their shipmates roam the land sharing tales of their explorations at sea.
They play intermittently throughout the party between 7:50 p.m. and 11:50 p.m.
Max Goofs Powerline “Stand Out” Pop-Up Party
Max Goof and his Powerline dancers appear at new pop-up parties throughout Magic Kingdom for this year’s MNSSHP before they dance onto Main Street U.S.A. ahead of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.
You can find them on the Adventureland stage, the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, and on the stage inside Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland.
There is no set schedule for the pop-up parties, so you’ll have to keep your eyes and ears peeled for Max and his ’90s dance crew.
