Near many artists’ booths at the 2024 Festival of the Arts is the Pastoral Palate food studio in the Germany pavilion. You can make a whole meal from this studio, as the beef short rib and black forest cake are tasty.
Germany tends to always have a solid booth and this year is no different. In fact, it was one of our top Food Studios of the entire 2024 Festival of the Arts!
If we had to pick our favorite, we’d definitely have to say the Rosé flight. It is not only a fun twist on Rosé, but it is delicious, too!

Photos & Reviews
Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Rib
Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Rib with Parsnip Purée, Broccolini, Baby Tomatoes and Balsamic Glaze.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Tender enough to cut with a plastic fork. Incredible flavors and portion. Would get this as part of a meal.
Heather: The beef here is so much better than the Beef Wellington at that other booth! Delicious flavor – and so tender! Very large portion, too!
Felicia: LOVE THIS! Short rib is tender and delicious, parsnip is perfectly pureed and the balsamic glaze is delicious. Roasted tomatoes and broccolini to finish it out. Great meal.
Black Forest Cake
Chocolate Mousse with Morello Cherries and Chantilly Cream.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Ohhhh, that’s good. Beautiful presentation, great size, combo of flavors is delicious and not too sweet.
Heather: A Black Forest cake that isn’t heavy?! And I don’t even LIKE cherries! This is a lovely compliment to the rose flight and would make the perfect dessert combo.
Felicia: Great chocolate and cherry flavor, but the texture is all fluff/mush. Needs some crunch or other textures but flavor is there.
3 Daughters Brewing Rosé Hard Cider
A light pink hard cider with hints of berry and citrus.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Love that it’s a rosé cider. Delicious.
Heather: So good! Get this in the flight and have a mouthful of happiness. It isn’t TOO cider-y, either. But light and refreshing!
Felicia: Relatively dry cider. Decent rosé flavor. Not for me but not bad.
81Bay Brewing Co. Rosé Blonde Ale
A Rosé inspired Blonde Ale with strawberry and hibiscus.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: I loved this. What a fantastically light beer with just a hint of sweet.
Heather: I loved this one, too! Delicious flavor, light and crisp.
Felicia: This is delicious. Mild ale with maybe a slight strawberryesque flavor. Easy to drink.
Frozen Rosé
Frozen Rosé.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Slushy rose is hard to mess up. Really good, refreshing, not overly sweet.
Heather: Yum! Delicious rosé. Very refreshing:
Felicia: Fun frozen drink. A bit sweeter than I prefer but solid option.
Marietta Old Vine Rosé
A light- to medium-bodied wine made from German grapes.
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Only thing I didn’t love at this booth. Kind of a bitter taste.
Heather: My least favorite of the “rosé” options here, but it is still lovely. Can a flavor blush? This feels like it is blushing.
Felicia: This is a dry rosé which I prefer. Nothing noteworthy or special, but I like it.
