Let’s go drinking around the world — nope, just kidding. It’s time to spike things up and go drinking around Hollywood Studios!
Drinking around the World Showcase at Epcot has become a popular activity for those 21 and older when visiting Walt Disney World. We’ve even done it ourselves. But, Hollywood Studios is just as fun to drink around. There are so many places to grab tasty beverages, including delicious beer and specialty cocktails.
On Sunday, August 13, 2023, Felicia and I headed to Hollywood Studios to drink around the park. We hit up each land and tried many alcoholic delicacies along the way.
While we didn’t drink at every location (that just wouldn’t be smart or affordable) during this particular visit, we handpicked locations that we’ve never done before, felt were favorites, and offered unique options.
We mainly focused on bars and lounges, with a few exceptions. We also didn’t book any Table Service restaurants, but know you can order alcohol at each.
Surprisingly, we didn’t visit Oga’s Cantina this trip because we’ve already done it so many times and wanted to try different options. Don’t get us wrong, Oga’s Cantina is fun. We suggest everyone try it at least once, even if you’re not a Star Wars fan. We just wanted to step outside of our drinking box and add some other stops that we don’t normally try at Hollywood Studios.
If Oga’s Cantina is a priority, we recommend making reservations immediately. You can also join the walk-up list, but reservations are usually your best bet.
Oga’s tip: try the Fuzzy Tauntaun! Your lips won’t know what’s happening, but, don’t worry, it’s tasty.
We also didn’t go to your typical Quick Service dining locations. Typically, most Quick Service places at Hollywood Studios offer standard beer and pre-mixed cocktails. These spots don’t really serve anything fancy, which is why we “ignored” them. But know that you can order an alcoholic drink with your Quick Service lunch or dinner.
Below are the 11 places we purchased alcohol on our drinking tour around Hollywood Studios, along with mentions of other locations where you can find libations at the park.
Keep in mind that menus change, along with pricing, but here’s what we were able to enjoy on August 13, 2023 from start to finish!
Drink Stop #1: Hollywood Scoops
If you want to start your Hollywood Studios day with a beverage, might we recommend heading to Hollywood Scoops to enjoy a mimosa?
That’s right, at the popular ice cream stand you can purchase this breakfast/brunch cocktail — but only between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
There is one choice of mimosa — orange juice with some type of Prosecco. This was the perfect mix of orange juice with bubbles.
We like more champagne than juice and Hollywood Scoops did it right.
It’s also nothing fancy. I mean, it costs $14.50 (without tax) and $15.40 (with tax), which is a lot of money for a simple mimosa that you can simply make at home.
But, if you don’t mind spending a little extra to enjoy a glass of bubbly (with juice) in front of Tower of Terror in the morning, you won’t see us judging you.
Drink Stop #2: Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is a small outdoor lounge attached to the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant.
Both get busy and are beloved for good reason. Not only can you order from the full restaurant menu at the lounge (Famous Cobb Salads all around!), but you can also enjoy some cocktails while you sit and people watch.
There is also a walk-up bar that you can order drinks to-go if a table isn’t available at the lounge, the wait is too long, or you’d rather walk around the park with a beverage.
We ordered the margarita flight, which costs $17.50. You can also order each flavor individually ($15.50 per glass). The flight is the better deal — and tastes amazing.
The flight comes with: a Classic Margarita, a Blood Orange Margarita, and a Pomegranate Margarita. All are really good, but the Blood Orange was our favorite!
Drink Stop #3: Anaheim Produce
Anaheim Produce might not sound like a place you can order alcohol, but you can (in addition to snacks, including produce).
Here, you’ll find a variety of canned beverages, like beer, cider, and seltzers. There are also several frozen cocktails.
From a margarita, to a piña colada, to a frozen Coca-Cola (spiked with your choice of rum or whiskey), there’s a decent variety here. Plus, there usually isn’t too long of a line.
As you can see below, we ordered the seasonal Mango Piña Colada with Cruzan Mango Rum, Mango Smoothie, and Piña Colada.
While a piña colada isn’t anything fancy, it was good and a nice size for $13.50. It also tasted pretty fantastic during the high temperatures we experienced during this trip.
Drink Stop #4: Sunshine Day Bar
Sunshine Day Bar is always a must when walking down Sunset Boulevard. It has a full bar, a variety of beer, and a list of specialty cocktails to choose from.
We decided to try the Southside Fizz. It looked like a nice and refreshing option for all of the sweat our bodies were releasing (TMI?).
The drink costs $15.50 and features Hendrick’s Gin, Pure Cane Sugar, and Lemon Juice topped with Soda Water.
Admittedly, this wasn’t our favorite. We aren’t huge gin people and that’s really all you could taste. Once the ice started to melt, it watered down the drink making it a bit more drinkable.
But, if you’re a gin person, this is probably a good choice for you.
Drink Stop #5: Peevy’s Polar Pipeline
Peevy’s Polar Pipeline is a small stand that’s somewhat hidden in Echo Lake. You can find it behind Keystone Clothiers and near Hollywood & Vine.
Both non-alcoholic and alcoholic frozen Coca-Cola beverages are served here.
The Blue Raspberry, Wild Cherry, or Minute Maid Lemonade can be made with a shot of Bacardi Superior Rum or Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Or, you can get a frozen Coke with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, which is what we got for $14.50.
This was more up Felicia’s alley, since she likes whiskey. Myself? Eh, not so much, but I can recognize why many would enjoy it.
Drink Stop #6: Dockside Diner
Who wants a chocolate or vanilla milkshake with Kahlúa and Baileys? Well, for a steep $17.50 you can get exactly that at Dockside Diner.
I’m just going to say it — don’t order this. It’s overpriced, melts way too fast in the heat, and all of the alcohol settles at the bottom making it extremely hard to get a good taste/bite of the milkshake and alcohol at the same time.
We’re not sure why they don’t make this a floater, which makes way more sense. It’s basically chocolate ice cream on top of shots of Kahlúa and Baileys.
I literally choked trying to drink this because all of the alcohol came through the straw at once. Felicia can attest that it took me a couple minutes to stop coughing.
Dockside Diner also serves beer, a margarita, and a spiked frozen lemonade.
Drink Stop #7: Tune-In Lounge
The Tune-In Lounge is a bar attached to the 50’s Prime Time Café. This space also serves as the waiting area for those who have reservations at the restaurant.
But, anyone can walk in and order a drink. You don’t need to join a walk-up list or make reservations for the lounge. If you’re lucky, you might even score a seat. You can also stand at the bar or take to-go drinks.
There are lots of choices, including a full bar, beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. Our favorite? The “Loaded” Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen.
This is the famous Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen that is “loaded” with a shot of Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka for $12.75.
Admittedly, I don’t like the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. But, the beer is somehow completely transformed with a shot of ruby red grapefruit vodka. It just tastes so much better and is absolutely delicious.
Drink Stop #8: Oasis Canteen
Near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular you can find Oasis Canteen. Like many other spots at the park, this is a full bar that also serves specialty drinks.
We went with the Frozen Rum Runner for $14.50. We’ve never had a Rum Runner frozen, so this was a really great choice! We both loved it.
It features Don Q Rum, Bols Crème de Banana Liqueur, Bols Blackberry Liqueur, Grenadine, and Orange and Pineapple Juice.
This was a decent size, not too sweet, and embodied lovely tropical flavors. We definitely recommend trying this!
Drink Stop #9: BaseLine Tap House
Welcome to BaseLine Tap House, aka our home away from home at Hollywood Studios. We love it here so much, especially the playlist. It’s one of the best places to grab a drink and a snack at the entire park.
So, of course we had to stop here as we drank around Hollywood Studios. The tap house is known for California beers, but there is also a full bar, ciders, and some specialty cocktails served.
Beer flights are an option, as well.
We, of course, got a beer. We ordered the 22 oz. Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA.
If you don’t want the 22 oz., you can order a 16 oz., but what fun is that? Just kidding, but a 22 oz. is only $11, whereas a 16 oz. is $9.75.
Drink Stop #10: Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo
Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we think Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo is a top dining option. The food is really, really good for a Quick Service spot.
But, if you want a place to rest your feet and sip on a cold beverage, you can do that here, too!
Out of the small alcoholic drink menu, we decided to try the Surly Sarlacc (which you can also purchase at Ronto Roasters) for $14.50.
It has Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, Minute Maid Limeade, Raspberry, and Spicy Mango Flavors.
The “spicy mango flavors” didn’t really come through, but the grapefruit did. If you’re not a fan of grapefruit, you might want to avoid.
We both thought it was refreshing and flavorful, without being overly sweet. We also loved being able to sit inside at Docking Bay to escape the heat.
Drink Stop #11: Woody’s Lunch Box
Woody’s Lunch Box is one of the top Quick Service locations at Hollywood Studios — and for good reason.
It’s perfectly themed, is located in an extremely popular land, and features delicious food. But, we came here for the Grown-Up’s Lemonade.
For $13.50, you can order the adult-friendly cocktail that comes with Cherry Vodka, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and Black Cherry Purée.
This definitely isn’t for everyone and can be on the sweeter side. There’s a lot of cherry flavor happening, so if that’s not your thing, you probably shouldn’t order.
But, overall, it’s a fine alcoholic beverage that pairs well with Woody’s Lunch Box’s famous “Totchos” (both regular and plant-based).
