Review: Goofy's Good Morning Breakfast at Ravello (Four Seasons

While we’d bet that nearly all guests visiting Walt Disney World know that character meals are a fun thing that you can do when you visit, we’d also bet there are a lot of visitors that don’t realize that you can find one of those character meals off property at a nearby resort.

You used to be able to find several meals off-property. But since the reopening, only 1 of the non-Disney-owned resort character meals has started back up: Goofy’s Good Morning Breakfast at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando.

So, we decided to check it out.

Dining at Goofy’s Good Morning Breakfast

Location: Ravello at Four Seasons Resort Orlando

Meals available: breakfast (Saturdays only)

Price: Adults (ages 10 and up) $48.00 / Child (ages 3-9) $28.00

Characters: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy

Located at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Goofy’s Good Morning Breakfast is, at the time of this writing, the only non-Disney resort character meal available.

The location of the meal can make it tricky for people not staying there since you have to provide your own transportation (drive or Lyft/Uber are all acceptable).

In addition, since it is only offered 1 day per week, it’s also tricky for non-Four Seasons guests to fit into their schedules.

Characters

We always find it a bit odd to see the characters at non-Disney resorts but they really fit in here.

All 3 looked extra fly in their resort-wear outfits. We’re not sure if it is fair to describe a cartoon character as “mature” but these costumes definitely make them feel that way.

Like the other character meals, right now due to health and safety measures they are not stopping at individual tables.

But, unlike our experience at the other character meals on-property, when we dined here they didn’t even really pause for photos from a safe distance away.

At times it almost felt as if they were sprinting through the restaurant. (Ok, that might be an exaggeration but they were moving very, very quickly.)

In fact, they moved so fast it was difficult for us to grab photos.

For example, the best Mickey shot we have (that isn’t part of a video) is this one where Mickey looks to be very stressed out about something:

Minnie is a bit better, but she too was speed walking through the restaurant. She looked cute doing it, though:

Of course, we can’t forget the headliner, Goofy. His giant Chucks make it a bit more difficult to run, but he did not dilly dally at all. He must follow our advice of “walking with a purpose” because there was no sauntering:

For us, it was fine – but the way the characters moved through the restaurant was so different compared to our other character meal experiences that we thought it was important to point out.

Of course, we could have just visited on a bad day, too. Or, maybe the characters had just finished an espresso competition.

PhotoPass

Unlike the onsite character meals where the pre-meal photo has been eliminated, Ravello does still offer a PhotoPass photo with a character.

A virtual one, that is.

You take it in kind of an awkward space right where people are waiting to be seated, but it is a nice addition:

Unfortunately, you can’t get autographs of the characters.

And, unlike the onsite restaurants, you don’t even get a cute pre-printed postcard.

Instead, you get these:

We aren’t really sure what it is other than a card to serve as a physical reminder of the meal? Was it cute proof for valet parking? A companion piece for our Blockbuster membership card?

It was just kind of…odd.

Final Thoughts

We truly love the convenience that the offsite character meals offer to the guests staying at that specific resort. And, you can’t go wrong with the beautiful setting Ravello provides.

But, we don’t think this should be a must-do for most non-Four Seasons guests.

We felt rushed, and although the food was great, the character portion (which is what the high cost is supposed to justify) was lacking when compared to other character meals that are available.
