Following in the footsteps of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure will pause its virtual queue and move to a standby line.
Scott Gustin revealed the news on Nov. 3, while also noting that the standby line for WEB SLINGERS officially begins the morning of Nov. 4, 2021.
Gustin also noted that a virtual queue may be used on certain occasions, depending on crowds, demand, and any other factors.
In October, Disney updated the wording on its WEB SLINGERS page stating that the Avengers Campus attraction “may require guests to join a virtual queue,” which was the first hint that the ride might switch to a standby line.
At this time, there is no change to Disneyland’s Rise of the Resistance’s virtual queue.
But, when Disney Genie and Genie+ officially launch at the West Coast park (we still don’t have a debut date), both Rise of the Resistance and WEB SLINGERS (along with Radiator Springs Racers) will offer paid Individual Lightning Lane selections.
This means guests will eventually have the chance to purchase entry for these three rides by using the a la carte Lightning Lane option.
It’s unclear if when the pay-per-ride option becomes available at Disneyland if Rise of the Resistance will switch from a virtual queue to a standby line.
The Galaxy’s Edge ride could also stick with its virtual queue and also offer guests an Individual Lighting Lane purchase, just like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot. We will let you know whenever we learn more.
The individual Lightning Lane attractions selections are not included with Genie+. They are sold separately and will be pay-per-use.
We don’t know definitive pricing yet for Disneyland and California Adventure rides, but price will vary based on the park, the date, and the attraction.
Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios started using a standby line in place of a virtual queue beginning Sept. 23, 2021. Now, guests can either choose to wait in the standby line or pay to use the Lightning Lane (this is the new name for the FastPass line).
Similar to WEB SLINGERS, Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios could end up using a virtual queue at a later date or even “from time to time.”
