Are Universal Height Requirements Enforced?

Yes, height requirements are enforced at both theme parks and Volcano Bay.

Anyone who needs it will be measured by a Team Member. Sometimes even if a guest appears close to the requirement, including children, the Team Member working the attraction will still measure for safety reasons.

Adult & Older Kids Can Still Ride

If there is someone in your group who doesn’t meet the Universal height requirements, there is a way for you still ride — with Child Swap!

Each ride at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure offers Child Swap (Volcano Bay does not have Child Swap). There is a family room where one member of your party can wait with the little ones while everyone else rides.

Then, when the first group is done, you can switch places so whoever rode first can stay with the kids and the adult(s) who waited can now ride.

Child Swap is a great program that allows an adult to always wait with a child or children while the other part of the group can enjoy the ride.

Stay tuned for our guide on Child Swap, including tips on how to use it with Express Pass.
