What’s it like to dine at Topolino’s Terrace after the reopening?

We dined at Topolino’s Terrace right after Disney’s Riviera Resort opened but we wanted to see how things have changed for the character meal since the recent closure of the parks and resorts.

Here’s how that went.

Dining at Topolino’s  Terrace

• Location: Disney’s Riviera Resort
• Meals available: breakfast & dinner (only breakfast is a character meal)
• Price: Adults (ages 10 and up) $42.00 / Child (ages 3-9) $27.00
• Characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy (all dressed up as different types of artists)

Topolino’s Terrace is the newest character meal at Walt Disney World and we happen to think that the costumes are some of the best on property.

One of only 2 character breakfast options right now, Topolino’s Terrace offers great food with great views.

Reservations

Of course, you’ll need to make reservations to dine here.

Restaurant reservations can be made 60 days out (either online or in the My Disney Experience app). Since this restaurant is located outside of a park, a Park Pass is not required but you will need to figure out how to get there.

Guests staying at Pop Century, Art of Animation (when it reopens), and Disney’s Caribbean Beach can take the Disney Skyliner (gondolas). Check out our WDW Prep Transportation Navigator for info on how to get here if staying elsewhere.

Your meal starts here with a selection of pastries that are served to you inside of a ceramic paint bucket:

In addition, guests will have their choice of an entrée and of course a drink (non-specialty options are included in the price).

Your entrée choices are:

• Quiche Gruyère
• Wild Mushroom Scramble
• Smoked Salmon
• Two Eggs – Any Style
• Sour Cream Waffle
• Fruit Plate

What we liked

On our last trip we had the quiche and the sour cream waffle – and both were delicious.

What we didn’t like

It was all fine, but we weren’t in a great spot for the characters. More on that below.

Characters

Most people that choose to eat breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace are doing so because of the characters.

And, considering how few opportunities there are to see characters in the parks right now, that makes this restaurant an even bigger draw.

How is it different now?

The main difference you’ll see is how the characters interact with guests.

Instead of going from table-to-table, the characters are limited to moving through the restaurant via the main walkway.

If you picture a dart board with a center and 3 rings, they move through the restaurant via that inner ring. Which means if your table is along the wall (like ours was) you’ll not be in a great spot for photographs. 

Autographs

Characters aren’t signing autographs right now, but guests are provided with a cute postcard with printed signatures on the back:

Final thoughts

We love the characters here, and the view and restaurant are absolutely lovely.

We did feel like we had much better character interactions at Garden Grill, though, and the fact that it can be a little bit tricky to get here (if you don’t have a car) is a definite minus.

But, overall, if you’re looking for a cute and relaxing character breakfast it might be worth it for you.
