Cavalcades

Parades may be suspended, but Disney is still offering guests the opportunity to see some of their favorite characters in cavalcades!

If you’ve visited Magic Kingdom on a stormy day in the past, you might have been able to catch sight of the Rainy Day Cavalcade that performed in lieu of the regular parade.

But now Disney has expanded that idea of one small procession into multiple daily occurrences – and we absolutely love them.

Parades are great – but the spontaneous element of cavalcades are magical.

In many instances the floats used will look very familiar, because they are elements taken from the “regular” parades at Magic Kingdom.

Cavalcades happen most of the day, but start and end times may vary.

Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app (under “Entertainment”) for the most up-to-date schedule. You won’t get an exact time, but you’ll know who to expect.

Cavalcade

Here’s what you can expect to see at Magic Kingdom:

Tinker Bell & the Lost Treasure

Magic Kingdom Character Dining

Magic Kingdom is currently home to 2 of the character meals you can find on property right now – Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Unlike other meals where multiple characters are present, Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table each only have 1: The Beast and Cinderella, respectively.

Check out our latest Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest reviewa for more details on that experience.

Seasonal Character Experiences

As we’ve said, one of our favorite things at the parks is the parades. And this was especially true of the seasonal parades offered during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

While both of the parties have been cancelled in 2020, you can still enjoy some of the magic of the holidays with seasonal cavalcades at Magic Kingdom.

(Note: when these seasonal cavalcades are offered, not all of the standard cavalcades will be available).

Halloween Cavalcades

Colorful outfits for Mickey and Minnie (do you like them better than the previous confetti version?), embellishments on Cinderella Castle, plus projections on the other park icons have been announced so far.

Was hoping for more, but I suspect they’ll be dripping the info out as they learn more about how things are going safety-wise.

What are your thoughts? Will you be making a trip for the 50th? We will!
