Pros and Cons for All Epcot Restaurants

Pros and Cons for All Epcot Restaurants

Epcot has an abundance of dining options, and it’s often difficult to know where you should eat.

(That’s 1 reason it’s fun to stay at an Epcot-area resort: you can go to Epcot for dinner every night and try a new place to eat.)

Here’s a list of all Epcot restaurants with pros and cons, tips, links to menus + lots more.

Let’s take a look…

Disney World Dining Basics

While dining at Disney World isn’t all that different than eating in the “real world,” there are a few things to know about to make your experience easier.

Disney groups their restaurants into two main categories: Quick Service (which is like fast food) and Table Service (which are places that are a little bit nicer, where the food is brought to you).

Here is what you should know about each:

Quick Service

  • Sometimes referred to as “Counter Service”
  • Many locations offer Mobile Order which allows you to skip the line
  • Advanced Dining Reservations are not required or offered

Table Service

World Celebration

Your dining options in World Celebration are great for when you are looking for somewhere indoors to sit and cool off. Located near popular attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (which is in World Discovery), your 2 options here – Connections Café and Connections Eatery – offer everything from your favorite Starbucks drinks on the Café side, to complete meals on the Eatery side.

Because this is the only quick service dining with seating in both World Celebration and World Discovery, it can get pretty crowded (and noisy). If you can, try to eat during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.

Connections Eatery

Location type: Quick Service
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 quick service credit
  • Is Mobile Order available? Yes
  • Pros: Lots of indoor seating in the air conditioning, the only place to Mobile Order food at the front of the park, diverse selection of food options for both adventurous and picky eaters
  • Cons: The seating area can be chaotic during peak times, sometimes the food quality isn’t great

Connections Eatery opened in 2022 and is a Quick Service restaurant that serves a range of food and beverages for lunch and dinner.

There are burgers, salads, pizzas, plant-based options, fountain drinks, milkshakes, cocktails, and more.

connections eatery menu and counter - Epcot

Connections Eatery is a huge space and a popular one since it’s located near Creations Shop, Club Cool, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

This is really the main source of Quick Service dining outside of World Showcase and in World Celebration, hence why it’s so busy.

liege waffle - connections eatery - epcot world celebration

But, the food options are solid, especially the Liege Waffle, which is brioche dough with pearl sugar, strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce.

Tip: You can Mobile Order here, which we recommend.

Connections Café (Starbucks)

Location type: Quick Service
Type of food: Coffee and snacks

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 snack credit
  • Is Mobile Order available? No
  • Pros: Starbucks drinks and pastries, drinks are a great use of a snack credit (especially if you add extras to your drink), connected to Connections Eatery where there is lots of indoor seating available
  • Cons: No indoor seating and often very busy

Connections Café is Epcot’s Starbucks location. You can find it connected to Connections Eatery.

It’s popular for obvious reasons, so be prepared to wait in line.

connections cafe - Starbucks menu - Epcot

Like all of the other Starbucks’ across Walt Disney World, Mobile Order is not available.

connections cafe - Starbucks

Connections Café is open starting in the mornings until park close for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

World Discovery

World Discovery doesn’t have any sit down quick service dining (your closest option for that is Connections Eatery nearby in World Celebration), but what it lacks in quick service it makes up for in an out of this world themed dining experience at Space 220.

In addition to the Table Service location below, this area also has a couple of carts where you can get snacks (pretzels and popcorn), bottled beverages, and Mickey bars. There is also a Joffrey’s cart where you can get coffee and pastries.

Refreshment Station

Location type: Quick Service
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Snacks
Seating Available: None

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? No
  • Is Mobile Order available? No
  • Pros: Refreshing treats on a hot day that include frozen Coke slushies, cool misting features that can help you cool off
  • Cons: No indoor seating, but there is a small number of covered seats available

Previously known as Cool Wash, Refreshment Station is a Quick Service stand that’s hosted by Coca-Cola and serves assorted frozen refreshments, including Frozen Coca-Cola, Frozen Fanta Banana topped with Caramel and Blueberries, Frozen Coca-Cola topped with Assorted Candies, and more.

Space 220 & Space 220 Lounge

space 220 restaurant sign epcot

Location type: Table Service
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? No
  • Pros: Highly immersive space theming, unique food and cocktail options on the menu
  • Cons: Expensive prix fixe menu in the restaurant (although you can order a la carte in the lounge), reservations are in very high demand so it can be hard to snag one

Space 220 is the only Table Service restaurant in World Discovery.

It opened in September 2021 and has been hugely popular ever since. Space 220 offers a unique dining experience, in the sense that guests “travel to outer space” to eat.

You have 2 options when booking here: The restaurant and the lounge. Both offer seating in the same main dining room, the only difference being that the restaurant seating is on the lower level (a few steps down) closer to the “windows”, while the lounge seating is on the upper level. Both offer great views, though.

The restaurant menu here is prix fixe. Dessert is not included in your lunch price, but it is included for dinner.

space 220 lounge area and dining room

Of course, you’re not really dining in space, but it certainly feels that way.

space 220 atmospritz cotton candy cocktail

The lounge is a la carte, meaning you pay individually for each item that you order. You can order the same items that are available from the restaurant, or, you can just grab a drink and sit back and enjoy the views. This can be a much less expensive way to enjoy the restaurant’s unique interior without having to purchase an expensive meal.

We’ve yet to be disappointed with the menu here, especially the plant-based options (try the cauliflower and carrot cake).

space 220 plant based blue moon cauliflower appetizer

Reservations are highly recommended (they go fast), but you can also try to walk up on the day of your visit, which isn’t always guaranteed.

World Nature

World Nature doesn’t have a ton of Quick Service options, but it does have 2 of the most unique places to dine in Epcot: Coral Reef and Garden Grill.

The Coral Reef Restaurant stands out with its under-the-sea themed dining area (one wall literally looks out into one of the large aquariums!) and a menu rich in seafood, providing a unique visual and culinary experience.

And Garden Grill is not only one of our most favorite character meals in all of Walt Disney World, the entire restaurant actually slowly turns, giving you views of the Living with the Land attraction down below!

Sunshine Seasons

Sunshine Seasons

Location type: Quick Service
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 Quick Service credit
  • Is Mobile Order available? Yes
  • Pros: Conveniently located to attractions like Soarin’ and Living With the Land, unique options from the rest of the park
  • Cons: Only serves grab-and-go options after 4 p.m., seating can be hectic

Sunshine Season is inside the main Land pavilion building on the lower level.

This is a large food court style restaurant with a wide range of items available.

There are snacks, kids’ meals, and entrées, typically including cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza rolls, along with macaroni and cheese.

The adults usually have more variety, often including items like grilled salmon, stri-fried chicken, sandwiches, plus several plant-based options, to name a few.

Sunshine Seasons is also known for its specialty desserts, like cupcakes and cakes. They also sometimes have festival exclusive items. Be sure to check the menu to see what is offered during your visit.

There is also plenty of indoor seating for those eating at Sunshine Seasons or those who simply want a rest. And don’t forget to pay attention to where you sit, because each table has a different design representing the 4 seasons (fall, winter, spring, and summer).

Coral Reef Restaurant

Location type: Table Service
Type of food: African, Seafood
Meals Served: Lunch and dinner

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 table service credit
  • Pros: The view of the aquarium is the star here, can be a good use of Disney Dining Plan credits when ordering pricier entrees
  • Cons: Food and service aren’t consistent

Coral Reef Restaurant serves ocean-fresh specialities for lunch and dinner in a unique setting — a view into the pavilion’s aquarium.

While you eat, you can look through the panoramic windows into The Seas, which is one of the largest man-made ocean environments on the planet.

The aquarium also holds enough water to fill 54 Olympic-sized swimming pools and houses approximately 2,000 sea creatures (more than 60 aquatic species).

Garden Grill

farmer mickey at garden grill in epcot

Location type: Family-style character dining
Characters available: Pluto, Mickey Mouse, Chip, and Dale (dressed as farmers)
Type of food: American
Meals Served: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Seating Available: Indoor

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? Yes, 1 Table Service credit(s)
  • Pros: Meals are served family-style, which may be easier for families when compared to a buffet. The restaurant rotates, offering cool views of Living with the Land. You can meet Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey, who wears farmer overalls. Good use of a Table Service credit when using the Disney Dining Plan.
  • Cons: While the rotation of the restaurant is super slow, it may bother some guests.
  • Tips: It is often possible to get a reservation here when many others aren’t available. Garden Grill is often included as an option for dining packages like those for the Candlelight Processional.

Garden Grill is a character dining spot, where you can meet farmer Mickey, Chip, Dale, and Pluto.

Better yet, this is a rotating restaurant that offers cool views of the rainforest, farmhouse, thunderstorm, sandstorm, and prairie scenes from Living with the Land.

You’re served an all-you-can-eat family-style meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Garden Grill

Breakfast includes Mickey waffles, pastries, fruit, bacon, eggs, grilled steak and potatoes.

Lunch and dinner include salad, chicken, macaroni and cheese, grilled beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables, Southern-style spoon break, and berry short cake.

There are also plant-based and allergy-friendly platters available upon request.

Garden Grill whole gang

Advance reservations are highly recommended. You can book up to 60 days in advance.

World Showcase

The World Showcase is our absolute favorite place to dine when at Epcot. Whether we are sampling something from one of the many festival booths, or dining in one of the many table service or quick service locations around the park, we love indulging in the fantastic food options around the World Showcase Lagoon.

Here’s all the delicious food options you’ll find there, broken down by country (from Mexico to Canada):

Mexico pavilion

Choza de Margarita

Location type: Quick Service
Type of food: Mexican
Meals Served: Drinks and snacks

  • On the Disney Dining Plan? No

  • Pros: The stand offers a wide range of margaritas, including unique flavors like Guava Pink Peppercorn and the Fiesta Margarita, which combines different flavors and the food menu, though limited, is highly praised
  • Cons: There is no seating, the food options are very limited, and the lines here can be very long

You’ll find Choza de Margarita outside of the pyramid. You can’t miss it, because it usually has a long line. Plus, it’s the one outdoor stand that margarita lovers are attracted to.

The menu here consists of snacks, like tacos, empanadas, and guacamole, to name a few.

The guacamole is really good here and the chips are always crispy. This definitely makes for a great snack.

Even though the original menu isn’t being served right now, Tangierine Café works extremely well as a festival booth.

The offerings normally hit it out of the park. So much so, Tangierine Café is often one of our favorite booths of any festival.

The House-made Hummus Fries are top-notch (and a little spicy). These are also plant-based.

Also from chef Paul Bocuse, Monsieur Paul (formerly Bistro de Paris) is more of an upscale restaurant in the France pavilion.

There is a new prix fixe menu that offers a gastronomic meal.

As described by the restaurant, “The meal entails rites which include the search for good seasonal and local products, references to a codified repertoire of recipes, culinary skills, the setting of a beautiful table, the succession of courses and the pairing of dishes with wine.”

Chef Bocuse’s son, Jerome Bocuse, owns the company behind Monsieur Paul.

This Table Service spot is located just upstairs from Chefs de France.

  • Pros: Variety of unique beer “pub blends”, full bar available
  • Cons: Often gets very busy and no distinct lines for ordering, limited seating indoors but more options outside and to the left

Rose & Crown Pub is one of our favorite spots in the United Kingdom pavilion.

If you want authentic UK beer and other beverages, you’ll want to stop at the pub.

rose and crown pub - epcot - united kingdom pavilion

There is limited seating in here, which is great on a hot day. But, the tables fill up fast.

We recommend trying one of the pub blends, especially the Golden or as it is now known the “Golden Smith.”

golden beer pint - rose and crown pub - united kingdom pavilion

This was originally half Harp Lager and Half Bass ale, but the latter is no longer being produced on tap for the states. So, the pub blend is half Harp Lager and half Smithwick’s.

Don’t worry, you can still order it as a Golden and it still very much tastes like the original.

  • Cons: Reservations can be hard to get since the dining room is so small, menu is pricy

Le Cellier Steakhouse might be the only Table Service restaurant (reservations are highly recommended) in the Canada pavilion, but it’s a worthy option.

The dining location serves both lunch and dinner. There are even several plant-based offerings on the menu.

le cellier steakhouse - canada - Epcot

Most notably (as you can see above and below), the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, the Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad, and the pretzel bread and rolls with butter are usually our go-to here.

And these are just appetizers, meaning these are much more affordable offerings compared to the entrees.
