California residents planning on visiting Disneyland Park when it reopens on April 30 better get their hands ready, because Disneyland confirmed on April 8 that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will use a virtual queue system.
The virtual queue will operate just like Walt Disney World’s boarding groups for Rise of the Resistance.
You can only access the queue via the Disneyland app. There won’t be a standby line, so if you want to ride Rise of the Resistance, you must join the virtual queue.
Here’s what else you need to know:
There will be two distribution times for virtual queue enrollment: one in the morning and one later in the day. Specific times have not yet been announced, but they will be shared at a later date on Disneyland.com.
Remember, you must have a valid ticket and theme park reservation in order to access either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure.
So, if you choose to start your day at Disneyland Park, you can access the virtual queue system in the morning on the day of your park reservation.
Important: You must have your park ticket linked to your Disney account.

To access the second virtual queue later in the day, guests must have a valid ticket and park reservation, and have entered Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure with a Park Hopper ticket by the second enrollment time.
If you start your day at Disney California Adventure, you can enter Disneyland Park with your Park Hopper ticket after 1 p.m. for your boarding group.
Remember that upon reopening, only California residents may visit the parks, in line with current state guidelines. You can keep tabs on the latest Disneyland reopening information courtesy of our handy guide.
