The Cider House booth is located in the U.K. pavilion. If you’re in the mood for, you guessed it, cider, then this is the booth for you.
During last year’s festival, you could find a couple food items here, but really the best part of the booth were the ciders.
If we’re being honest, the food options weren’t very good at all here (at least in 2022), especially the bacon BLT scone.
And the dessert? It wasn’t anything special.
Below are our must-trys, photos, full reviews, and ratings from when we tried Cider House in 2022.
Overview
Location: Near the United Kingdom pavilion
Nearby booths: Northern Bloom
Nearby seating areas: Seating area between Cider House and Rose & Crown, a few standing tables throughout the U.K. pavilion, Yorkshire County Fish Shop has outdoor seating (tables covered with umbrellas)
Not to miss: Cider Flight, Snakebite

Review Disclaimer
When it comes to our reviews and ratings, we thought it would be helpful if you had a better understanding of our personal preferences (what we like and don’t like), along with if there are any dietary restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of not only who is doing the reviews, but a little more information about what each of us likes and doesn’t like food and drink-wise.
Shannon (Founder)
- Likes: Almost everything
- Dislikes: Beers that taste “stinky,” anything too salty
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Heather (Editor)
- Likes: Strong flavors, anything made out of potatoes, white wines, all beers (especially stouts and wheat beers), doesn’t mind sweet (plain fruit is NOT a dessert. Ever.)
- Dislikes: Things that are too spicy, anything with a bone still in it, cocktails with too much whiskey or tequila (thanks to having too much fun in college), some red wines, most IPAs
- Dietary Restrictions: Shellfish allergy
Felicia (Content Manager)
- Likes: Mezcal, savory drinks, stouts/lagers/wheats/sour beers, vinegar, tart/sour items, chocolate, fresh vegetables and fruits, red meat
- Dislikes: Ciders, sweet drinks, anything milky or creamy, chili powder, cumin, weirded out by textures, mayonnaise, saucy/wet food, cream-filled pastries, artificial fruit flavors, cooked fruits, frozen items (drinks or ice cream)
- Dietary Restrictions: None
Allyson (Managing Writer)
- Likes: Cheesecake (the more sweets, the better), anything mint, hazy IPAs and wheat beers (big beer fan), tofu and most Impossible dishes, mushrooms
- Dislikes: Wine (only likes a few dry ones), cream ales and stouts/porters, super sweet cocktails, floral flavors (lavender, rose), anything almond-flavored, things that are too spicy, olives, meat and seafood (see below)
- Dietary Restrictions: Vegetarian (personal choice)
Photos & Reviews
BLT Scone
This BLT Scone is served with Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sundried Tomato, and Basil. This is also a new 2022 festival item.
Price: $5.00
Special Diets: N/A
Rating: 1.3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Dry, small, plain, hard to cut and eat.
Heather: Guys. This is really bad. I love scones but this is *not* good. I mean…REALLY not good. YMMV.
Felicia: The scone is dry and dense. The bacon jam on the side is oddly sweet. I like the basil flavor but it doesn’t save the scone.
Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart
A Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart served with Whipped Cream.
Price: $4.50
Special Diets: Kid-Friendly
Rating: 2.3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Pretty presentation. Would’ve liked if the raspberry came through a little more.
Heather: It is a good tart, but way too sweet for me.
Felicia: This is okay, but it reminds me of store bought pie crust with chocolate Jello pudding. Not much raspberry flavor.
Allyson: Way too rich. Overall, just an ok dessert.
3 Daughters Brewing Pink Lemonade Hard Cider
This Pink Lemonade Had Cider is brewed by 3 Daughters Brewing Pink in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Price: $5.00 (6 oz.) / $9.00 (12 oz.)
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 3.5/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Almost too sweet but not quite. Light and tasty.
Heather: Very crisp. A little too sweet.
Felicia: So sweet but I like that it is tart like lemonade.
Allyson: In my opinion 3 Daughters really can’t make a bad cider and same goes for this one.
Bold Rock Watermelon Hard Cider
This is a Watermelon Hard Cider brewed by Bold Rock in Nellysford, Virginia.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Price: $5.00 (6 oz.) / $9.00 (12 oz.)
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 3.3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Yum yum. Just a slight hint of watermelon. Would order a full size version.
Heather: Not a strong cider flavor – but still tasty!
Felicia: Watermelon flavor isn’t very strong so mostly tastes like apple cider. I don’t like apple cider.
Allyson: Not a big watermelon flavor person, but this isn’t too bad and not too overpowering. Super light and crisp.
Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Triple Jam Hard Cider
A Triple Jam Hard Cider made by Blake’s Hard Cider Co. in Armada, Michigan.
Note: this drink is also available in a flight.
Price: $5.00 (6 oz.) / $9.00 (12 oz.)
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 3.3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Other options are better here. Too syrupy sweet.
Heather: Definitely can taste the berries. Good overall cider choice!
Felicia: Gross and sweet. Like sweet berry jam and apple cider mixed. Yuck.
Allyson: Really enjoyed this one. So crisp and fruity in all the right ways.
Samuel Smith Old Brewery Pure Brewed Organic Lager
This Pure Brewed Organic Lager is made with organic ingredients by Samuel Smith Old Brewery in Tadcaster, UK.
Price: $5.00 (6 oz.) / $9.00 (12 oz.)
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Too boring and basic. Small size.
Heather: Nice lager. Not too hoppy, but it still tastes like a beer!
Felicia: Strong for a lager but still very good. Happily get a large one of these. It is easy to find a lot of places so maybe not worth stopping for.
Allyson: Not wowed by this. A mediocre light beer.
Snakebite
A Snakebite, which is made with Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Triple Jam Hard Cider and Samuel Smith Old Brewery Pure Brewed Organic Lager.
Price: $9.00
Made with Alcohol?: Yes
Rating: 3.3/5
Our Thoughts
Shannon: Pretty basic, but generous size.
Heather: Mixing the 2 together definitely kills some of the sweet. Great option of you want flavor without anything overpowering.
Felicia: I hate this but if you want a cider that has been mellowed out with a lager, this may be your jam.
Allyson: I’ve never had a Snakebite before and thought this was really good. Super refreshing too.
