I've created a couple batches of business-card sized lunchbox notes containing Disney trivia.

These would be fun to use for kids (or adults, I won't judge) who are headed to Disney World.

Print them off, write a personal note on the back and surprise somebody in their lunchbox.

Batch #1

Here are the 10 lunchbox notes in this batch:

Again, you gave us another fun thing to do as we wait for our trip. Thanks! Great idea!

Any chance you’ll be making more of these cards? I’ve printed them off and will put one in my daughter’s lunch every week until we go to Disney. Unfortunately, these aren’t going to last that long and I’d love to have more of them. They are great!

Came on over from the Capturing Magic podcast. Fun stuff you all talked about. I really like this idea, you have a great set of cards. But, would you PLEASE make some for Disneyland?!?!?

    • Shannon Albert October 3, 2013

Welcome from the podcast! Maybe once this site expands to include Disneyland info, I will add content for Disneyland, but for now it’s just Disney World.

    Super fun and cool! Thanks!

  6. Flo August 27, 2013 Reply

Fun idea, I will have to remember these the next time we go and stick them in my husbands lunches, he will get a kick out of it.

My family loves Disney, and these trivia cards are a big hit! I love to share interesting facts with my kids through their lunchbox — and it is a great way to let them know that I am thinking about them during the day.

Please make more from time to time! We love them — and will have even more things to look for at our next DisneyWorld adventure!

Okay, I’ve just found something to put in my lunch bag next week! These are awesome! Thanks Shannon!

  9. Kris August 16, 2013 Reply

Really cute idea! I did a countdown chain last year and each day had trivia or a fun Disney activity to get us ready for our trip. I should have done something like this too, very fun!

My daughter is in the 3rd grade this year and since her first year in school I’ve left lunch notes in her lunch. She’s a pretty picky eater so she takes it probably 3 times a week. She reminds me before she goes to bed to put a note in her lunch. These will be fun!

    • Shannon Albert August 16, 2013

Glad you like them, Jenny. I need to do a baby version for your son now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Cherie August 16, 2013 Reply

Oh, these are just fantastic. I am always looking for interesting things to put in my daughter’s lunch box. She will just love these!! Thanks so much for sharing!

    • Shannon Albert August 16, 2013

      No problem. You’re welcome!

I just got back from a five night stay at Coronado Springs and had the best time! Even though I went during the busy season I barely waited in any lines and was able to do everything I wanted!

Instagram post 2195165576133294818_547098091 How to tour Hollywood Studios with an 8 a.m. scheduled opening:
โœจ
1.) Arrive by 6 a.m. if you want the shortest standby waits and Rise of the Resistance boarding group with a low number.

Buses and Minnie Vans are NOT operating early enough to get you there by 6 a.m., so you would need to have your own car, Lyft, or walk to get there by 6.

Have little ones? Uber Car Seat is an option as well.

Arriving a bit later will likely still be ok, but increase your wait times and boarding group number slightly.

2.) The park is likely to open way before the scheduled 8 a.m. time. The opening time was 6:26 a.m. for us this morning.

Once open, youโ€™ll scan your MagicBand/park ticket to enter, and then immediately open the app to snag a boarding group.

Scroll through the pics for info on how to get a boarding group.

3.) After getting a boarding group, itโ€™s time to start riding rides. This order should allow you the shortest standby times:

First hour: Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, Toy Story Mania

Second hour: Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror (could also do Star Tours if you like)

Third hour: Smugglers Run and hope that your Rise of the Resistance boarding group has been called so you can head there next (higher boarding group number? you can leave the park and come back when youโ€™re called if youโ€™d like).
โœจ
Of course, if you have a FastPass for a ride, you may want to skip that attraction (or ride it in the standby line and again later with FastPass).
โœจ
Keep in mind that characters and most dining wonโ€™t begin until park opening, so youโ€™ll want to hit those after 8 a.m.

Hopefully that helps those of you traveling over the next few weeks. What questions do you have? ๐Ÿ“ฒClick the ribbon to save this post for future reference.

Instagram post 2193115991424601780_547098091 Hereโ€™s a recap of what weโ€™ve learned about Hollywood Studios w/Rise of the Resistance so far:

This week itโ€™s 6 a.m. (like today), and next week is likely to be 7:30.

After that, we donโ€™t know, but Flight of Passage has been available early for 2+ years, so it might continue for awhile (or not).
.
๐ŸšŒ Transportation: buses will be running that early, but Skyliner wonโ€™t. It didnโ€™t start until 8:00 today.

ALL members of your party must be in the park to get a boarding group.

All groups were full by 8 a.m. today (an hour before official park opening!). Get there early to ride.

According to sources, this virtual queue system will be in place for at least the next several weeks before Disney moves to using the FastPass system.

3.) ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐ž ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐š ๐ ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ (we were told โ€œmorningโ€), but there is no guarantee, especially as the ride goes down often.

Our group ended up being called at 12:52.

Once called, you have 2 hrs to return. No need to stay in the park. You can leave, get the notification, then return to Studios.

4.) ๐—”๐—น๐—น ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด which allowed us to go on all Toy Story Land rides, Rock n Roller Coaster, & Tower of Terror in 90 minutes w/no waits. No characters available during this time.

5.) ๐™๐™ž๐™™๐™š๐™ง ๐™Ž๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™˜๐™ & ๐˜ฟ๐™ž๐™จ๐™–๐™—๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐˜ผ๐™˜๐™˜๐™š๐™จ๐™จ ๐™Ž๐™š๐™ง๐™ซ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š ๐™–๐™ง๐™š ๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™จ at Rise, but everybody must have a boarding group.

Since everybody will be in a boarding group, we arenโ€™t sure we see the value of Rider Switch for most, but it wonโ€™t hurt to snag it JUST in case.

However, if the 1st members of your party enter toward the end of your boarding window, you will definitely want to snag a Rider Switch pass for the 2nd group to use.

DAS varies in how itโ€™s handled. Participants should inquire at the ride.

WHEW. Thatโ€™s a lot to take in.

Instagram post 2192428562363229697_547098091 Moved over to the Boardwalk Inn today where itโ€™s looking as gorgeous as ever with Christmas decor everywhere you look. ๐Ÿ˜

(You know how Epcot looks its best during Flower and Garden Festival and itโ€™s a tough transition to see the park without all the extras? So many resorts are like that with Christmas decor.)

Lots more on my stories as we explore the hotel and Boardwalk area.
Instagram post 2191647241818984579_547098091 Hello from Galaxyโ€™s Edge where weโ€™ve been able to ride Rise of the Resistance multiple times (and we know what a privilege that is!).
โœจ
It is indeed an incredible new attraction and will be the star of Galaxyโ€™s Edge. Answering questions about it in my Stories so feel free to follow along and ask us anything you want to know.
