On Tuesday, March 30, the new Walt Disney World digital feature Disney MagicMobile rolled out to select guests — Apple users to be exact.
Disney first announced this service on March 11 and revealed MagicMobile would launch in phases later this year and that it would first be available on Apple devices, specifically iPhones and Apple Watches.
Well, now it’s here and the service is super simple to set up. But, before diving into how to add your MagicMobile pass to your Apple wallet, here’s a brief background on MagicMobile.

MagicMobile is a contactless way to access MagicBand features, like theme park entry (you must have valid theme park admission and a park reservation) and linking PhotoPass images to your account.
But, now, guests can do it through their iPhones, Apple Watches, or other smart devices. Regarding the latter, it’s unclear when the feature will roll out to other smart devices.
You don’t have to use MagicMobile if you don’t want to. If you’d like, you can choose to continue using a MagicBand or even a card. Or, you can even use all three interchangeably during your park visits.
With that, here’s how to activate your MagicMobile pass.
Set up your pass
All you have to do is open the My Disney Experience app, click the three lines in the bottom right-hand corner, and then tap “Disney MagicMobile Pass.”
You will be directed to the following screen. Click “Set Up Your Pass.”

Select style and add to Apple Wallet
You will be able to choose from a range of styles for your pass (as seen below) and once you’ve found a design that you like, you can “Add to Apple Wallet.”

These are just a few of the fun styles featured!

Select passes to share
You can even “Select Passes to Share,” which simply means you can share your MagicMobile pass with members of your travel party.
As explained in the app, “Anyone that receives your shared pass will be able to add the pass to their Apple Wallet and use all of its linked entitlements.”

When it comes to scanning your MagicMobile pass at park entry, you can use “Express Mode.” This means all you have to do is tap your phone near the touch points without unlocking your phone.
However, for family and friends who are linked to your account, you will have to open your digital wallet and redeem each pass individually.
As for connecting PhotoPass images to your account, show your MagicMobile pass to the PhotoPass photographer. MagicMobile also allows you to gain access to the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance and you’ll soon able to charge purchases to your Disney Resort hotel folio using the pass.
Keep in mind that you can still use the existing digital room key available in the My Disney Experience app and you can also continue to pick up a Key to the World card at your hotel’s front desk.
There continues to be all kinds of new experiences at Walt Disney World. If you’re thinking about planning a trip, make sure you reach out to an experienced travel professional at Small World Vacations.
