Info from this episode

Jill’s family traveled with her husband and 4 kids to Disney World at the end of January. They stayed in a suite at All-Star Music, found ways to save money on food, stayed offsite at the beginning and end of their trip to save a little, and managed to fit it all in.

Jill loved how fun the queues are. See which attractions offer that.

Quick tip of the day

John and Courtney emailed in a tip that suggests sitting in the middle section of the Disney Jr. Live show because that’s the best spot to be in to enjoy the snow effect during the show.

I tried to different lunches each day. I also tried to make them different from what they get every day at school, because I wanted it to feel special. For example I bought Gushers and Fruit by the foot and other fun items that I usually don’t put in their school lunches. (They usually just get cheap Costco fruit snacks, ha ha…I know they are abused lol)

Here are a few of my “Main Courses”.

Day 1: I ordered Pita’s from the Garden Grocer. I then packed the pouches of Star Kist Tuna Creations. I bought a small container of Miracle Whip that was intended to be used this one day then the remainder to be thrown away in the park. We simply made them while in the park, so I wouldn’t have to worry about refrigerating the Miracle Whip.

Day 2: We brought what my kids called “fancy crackers”. I also bought sealed salami, summer sausage, etc. That did not need refrigeration. I purchased some really hard cheese from Costco that could withstand a little warmer temperature. I made a make-shift cooler out of a large Ziploc bag and Ice from the hotel to keep the cheese in. We basically had really good Lunchables.

Drinks: I brought the “Single Serving” Kool-aide pouches. They each got to pick their flavor for the day. My kiddos really enjoyed these instead of just drinking water.

Sides and Snacks: Costco beef jerky To save a little money I bought the large bag of trail mix and made my own little pouches with snack size Ziploc bags. Dried Mangos Fruit cups, apple sauce cups. (I double Ziploc bagged these so there was no accidental exploding in the backpack.

Sorry, this is the longest comment in history, this was just a few of my days but hopefully it helps get an idea of what I did each day.

Could Jill be more specific about the types of things she brought into the park for her family's lunches? This sounds like a great idea. I think my kids could get behind packing part of the lunch, buying part, and then having extra money for snacks!
