2024 Complete Guide to Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival

2024 Complete Guide to Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival

There are several special events and festivals held throughout the year at Disney World. Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival is 1 of those.

In this complete guide, we’ve got details on when it’s held, what you’ll find (including all the great food, drinks, and beautiful topiaries!) and whether or not we think it is worth it.

Let’s get started…

2024 Flower and Garden Festival Dates

The 2024 Flower and Garden Festival kicked off on February 28 and will run through May 27.

That’s 90 days to take in all the gorgeous topiaries, gardens, and of course all the delicious food!

We’ll go into a lot more detail below, but we’ve found that lots of people want to dive directly into the map and booth info so let’s start with that, first:

Due to the popularity of the Food and Wine Festival, Disney started offering food and beverage options in special kiosks throughout the World Showcase at all of its festivals.

Festival kiosk

In 2024, there are 17 official outdoor kitchens (with 7 additional locations plus Joffrey’s) to grab festival-themed food and beverages.

Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts have become a popular festival addition, and guests visiting Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival can participate in one of our favorites: Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration.

We love the scavenger hunts because they are a great way for families to enjoy wandering the World Showcase. They keep the kids entertained, and the hunts usually take you into areas you may skip.

Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration costs $9.99 plus tax.

When you complete your scavenger hunt, you can turn it in for a special prize that’s themed around the festival.

The prize for completing the scavenger hunt in 2024 is a miniature cornhole game:

Note: Prizes need to be picked up by the end of the festival and, even if you don’t complete the entire scavenger hunt, you can still collect your prize.

The Egg-stravangaza Scavenger Hunt (say that 5 times fast) is an Easter-themed activity that’s available for a limited-time at Epcot during the Flower & Garden Festival.

This scavenger hunt allows guests to hunt for Disney characters on oversized eggs around World Showcase.

You can purchase a map and stickers for $9.99 (plus tax) at select merchandise locations (available while supplies last).

General seating for the concerts is free and is included in your price of admission to the park.

Garden Rocks Concerts take place 3 times a night – 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.

It’s not too difficult to snag a seat at one of the concerts; however, you want to arrive about 30 minutes before the show. Or, if you prefer, you can avoid the line (and wait) altogether by booking one of the Garden Rocks Dining Packages.

Garden Rocks Dining Packages

If you want a more up-close view of the show without waiting in line, you can purchase a Garden Rocks Dining Package that will get you a seat in the first 3 rows.

The packages are typically available Fridays through Mondays.

Because this package reserves your seat, unless you want the front-center seat, you can show up much closer to show time (even up to just a few minutes before the show starts) and still snag a good spot.

Garden Rocks Dining Package entrance

If you line up early for the dining package, you’ll be allowed to enter a bit earlier than the standby line, and you can choose where to sit (on an aisle in the center usually gives the best view).

There are different restaurants at Epcot that you can book for either lunch or dinner. Each package includes:

  • Spice Road Table: Includes 2 small plates, a shared dessert platter and a nonalcoholic beverage
  • All Other Participating Restaurants: Includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert or one (1) full buffet/family-style meal (where applicable), as well as a nonalcoholic beverage
  • One guaranteed seat per person to a Garden Rocks concert held on the same day

Note that an adult is ages 10 and up and children are considered ages 3 to 9.

Walk-up dining packages

In addition to packages that you can pre-book, you can sometimes also find walk-up packages available at select dining locations.

In 2024, Regal Eagle has a walk-up dining package.

To check availability for the same-day dining package, visit Regal Eagle Smokehouse. Same-day packages are subject to availability and may not be available on peak dates.

These are only available same day and can be booked in person.

JAMMitors / Jammin’ Gardeners

Another festival favorite are the JAMMitors.

This group has been around for years, and with each festival, they often customize their “instruments” and name to fit the theme.

For the Flower and Garden Festival, you can usually find them in World Celebration jammin’ on metal trash cans!

Spaceship Earth – Encanto & Pocahontas Sequences

Throughout the year, Disney rotates different light shows on Spaceship Earth to reflect the season or the current festival.

During the Flower and Garden Festival, in addition to a couple of standard displays that will play intermittently during the evening, you can also catch shows set to the music of Encanto and Pocahantas.

PhotoPass pictures and Magic Shots

Throughout the park, you’ll find PhotoPass photographers available to take your picture with some of the topiaries.

The easiest way to find PhotoPass locations is by using the map option inside of the My Disney Experience app.

There are typically a couple stationed at the front of the park, on the main walkway in Showcase Plaza between World Celebration and the World Showcase, in France, and on the bridge heading over to France from the United Kingdom.

Most of the photographers can take both regular pictures in addition to cute festival-themed Magic Shots, so be sure to ask for those if you stop for a photo.

Tours

There are a couple of tours you can do during the Flower and Garden Festival:

  • English Tea Garden Presented by Twinings of London Tea (GUIDED) – this a free tour that lasts 20 minutes and takes place in the United Kingdom pavilion. Guests should register by signing up in The Tea Caddy in the UK pavilion.

There is also a self-guided tour option available, too. To participate, you just need to pick up a brochure at the Tea Caddy.
English Tea Garden
  • Behind the Seeds – This horticulture tour is available year-round, but the theming makes it an excellent option for a Flower and Garden focused trip, since it takes you backstage on Living with the Land to learn all about the greenhouses and farming techniques being implemented. The cost is $35 per person and you can book online or check the kiosk near the entry to Soarin’ for same-day availability.

Merchandise

Fun (and CUTE!) Flower and Garden Festival merchandise can be found throughout the park.

Some of these items are available early, while additional pieces debut throughout the festival. Select items will also be available online at The Disney Store.

Here are the collections for 2024:

  • Orange Bird Collection: Spread the sunshine with adorable Orange Bird keepsakes in this collection featuring apparel, accessories, garden décor and more.
  • Coco Collection: Keep the inspiring words “Seize Your Moment” top of mind with this Coco-themed collection that includes apparel, headwear and home décor.
  • Butterfly Collection: Flutter through the butterfly garden alongside Minnie Mouse with items from this flowery collection.
  • Annual Passholder Collection: Enjoy Festival treasures featuring Spike the Bee on apparel, accessories and trading pins exclusive to our Annual Passholder family.

Get the Flower and Garden Festival map

Disney used to offer special Flower and Garden maps that highlighted where you could find all the fun festival-exclusive booths, gardens, and topiaries in the park.

But, in recent years, they’ve opted to skip a Festival-themed map and instead put all the festival exclusive items on the map in the My Disney Experience app.

We have put all the booth locations onto one map, though. Make sure you save it to your phone for use in the parks.

Best time to visit

The Flower and Garden Festival (like the other festivals offered at Epcot) is popular with the locals, so avoid the weekends for the lowest crowds.

Also, the opening days of anything (including festivals like this one) are extremely popular, so be prepared for that if you plan to visit during that time.

I planned out our days for our May 2019 trip and realized I planned an Epcot day on a Saturday. We will have our two boys, 4 and 1, with us and I am concerned that the weekends during F&G will be as "rowdy" as the weekends during F&W. Should young families avoid this event on the weekends?
